Rainy trails are fun!I’m very happy with this purchase and hope to hit the trails when the rain stops falling here.
You can see where a winch was installed previously, they just took it with them when traded in, along with the compressor and everything else that was easily removable. As far as the rock sliders. The sliders that were on the jeep were the stock flat rubicon sliders so getting into the truck was tough for my wife and kids. I swapped them out to the ones in the picture to give them a step to get in. Plus I felt like these were built a little stronger.I think great job... The parts list alone seems to be good stuff and not some Smitty built mall crawler. Even if there are a few thingss that you dislike overall probably a good deal...
So I am assuming they had some type of sliders/rock rails already. By chance what were they that you decided your factory ones are preferred??
The winch I kind of agree with the other post. Seems a lot of thought out parts existing there and no winch .. kind of gives you the ... Hmmm vibe... However I am doing the same with selling my old 2016 JTUR because I own a Warn 8274 that has been running great for 30+ years. Hard to part with it so I don't but very difficult to find an accommodating bumper as it does use the current standard of mount and has an excessively large spool (125-150 of line).
I need to check these to see if they are all still hooked up and how they are hooked up. Im not sure what they were hooked up to. Any thoughts? They probably had a nice Zeon or something and those ARB compressors are not cheap. The dealership gives you next to nothing for it or even nothing so better to move it to your next vehicle or sell it
Hey if you're happy with what you have that's all that matters. I spent a lot of time installing my upgrades and saved a lot of cash. But I would be just as happy if I had been able to get them already installed and with a great discount. Enjoy great looking Gladiator. After reading some of these negative opinions that some have after they assumed the “value” of my decision. I think I should elaborate a little.
This was a vehicle that I was able to meticulously go through before purchasing with each upgrade and the value. It was also not built in a backyard garage as some would rather do themselves. With that being said the cost to purchase the aftermarket parts and have them installed, which I am more than able to do myself but not capable with my limited garage space, far exceeded what I paid. Those that would rather spend 3 times as much and do it yourself. Have at it. I’m not here to degrade you for doing it. I on the other hand am on a very limited budget and this build would have taken me 5-10 years to accomplish at full cost, so yea I took a shortcut, it’s not your JT it’s mine and I am very happy with it. It might be a bad decision in time or it may have saved me $10k+ in the long run. We can all only imagine. I don’t know anyone’s full story and nobody on here knows mine, so let’s all just be a little less eager to jump someone’s case for not “doing what they would have done”.
South west.Nice JT. Where in Indiana are you?
