Like this?REAL truck experts all agree that lifts and bigger tires lower the towing capabilities. So if it starts with 7,000 pounds, don't try to tow 7,000 pounds with a lift and bigger tires.
The manly men who all say "I did it and it's fine" could have been lucky. Center of gravity, braking, steering, all are changed.
There are videos out there explaining the science, logic and reasoning behind it - they are true experts, experienced in trucks, lifts and towing.
----Yes, the stock Rubi can tow 7,000 lbs. Yours with the 37's will have some issues due to the (still?) stock gearing and tire geometry. Plus, the added weight from the tires alone will significantly lower your tow rating so I'd guess it'd be more like a 6,000 lb capacity now so, keep that in mind when you hook up.
As others have said, keep it below65 mph and I would be shifting manually instead of letting it do it's thing because you'll probably be in 4th at 65 mph screaming along at 4,500+ RPMs. As it sits, you'll probably be able to maintain 65 mph in 6th between 2,500 and 3,000 RPMs. Trying for 7th, you might be lugging the engine (RPMs below 1,700 trying to maintain)...dunno, but that'd be my guesstimate.
Many others have had better luck towing, but enjoy your big truck.----
Bought 17" Sol camper less than 3k lbs.,dry. '22 Mohave Glad has 35's 392 takeoffs. Towing was terrifying, added wt dist hitch that helped with scary sway. Bottom line 3.6 penstar is a wimp. Manual shifting is a must for moderate towing. Love the Mohave but not as a tow vehicle. I traded it traded last week for new Tundra. Mohave can be bought at Jim Hudson Toyota Columbia SC. It has around 8800 miles.
