Take it to your dealership for diagnostics. I’m kinda biased living through a grenaded transmission and thinking I could take matters into my own hands and fix my transmission issues, (don’t do that)! 8th gear slipping,… take it in! FCA wants to be involved and if you leave them out, they get all pissy and offended.
If the dealership suggests they want to do a pan drop or two to change oil at your cost, …get all that said in a work order. No office discussions with the manager with nothing documented, it’ll screw you in the end. My dealership said to me concerning my tranny issues that “Chrysler wouldn’t see it as broken so they wouldn’t fix it” and wanted to take me to the cleaners. You have warranty, use it.

Gas or Diesel? Is this a recent issue, or has it been going on for a while? First thought would be a Transmission issue.

Ok so returned from the dealership without the Jeep.
They said codes were thrown for the throttle body and mentioned it was a common problem that yet has a fix for.
So they are documenting the issue and getting FCA involved to see what is next.

There have been some recent postings about throttle body issues. Hopefully, it doesn't take too long to fix. Send a message to @JeepCares and they may be able to provide some assistance in getting a resolution.

Resurrecting this one…. Did anyone ever figure out what is causing this?
23 8at rubicon, 41kish miles, started doing this today only in 7/8th gear when below 2000ish rpm. Drove around trying to replicate it in all the other gears and could not do so.
I did fill up this morning at a racetrac, and have since gone through half a tank through normal highway driving. Hoping it’s something with the gas

. I took it out again Saturday maybe 3 hours after it did it originally and was still doing it. As of right now, my drive into work it was normal today so hoping it was a blip in something for the controls and we’re good to go.
Great to hear yours is still kicking, thanks for the response! The lack of info on this specific issue was encouraging.
