The noise only occurs when diving over 65 on the interstate. It will start when the transmission downshifts to go up a hill or to pass, then will go away when I get back to 7th or 8th gear. I never notice it driving around town. 2021 Mojave with 55K miles. Any thoughts?

Try doing a pan drop and filter and fluid change .

What Stand said - A whine in my experience means gears are rubbing on gears; used to drive on a whine and basically after a month of driving realized I destroyed my rear differential (Isuzu Rodeo). So had to get a new one of those.....etc.

Looks like when it shifts from 8th to 4th in your video and the whine is heard.
If it’s transmission whine. I’ve had the “4th gear whine” and had also brought it in, was confirmed and FCA engineers said 4th gear whine is normal.

So I’ve lived with it, and have done 4 pan drops already on this 4th transmission and the whine is barely noticeable. If whine was heard in 1st and 2nd gears (as I’ve had in my previous transmissions), it’s pump failure.

This is what I’m thinking. It has done this for a while and doesn’t seem to be getting worse. So, the pan drop and fill seemed to help?

I can still make out the whine in 4th gear but there are many times now, I don’t hear it. It’s taken 4 drops to significantly quieten. Temps have dropped after the 3rd pan drop and then I’ve seen two further temp drops after the 4th pan drop. Not sure if temp drop and whine go hand in hand but both have improved.

The 4 pan drops isn’t done in a week or month, it was over some time and now it’s just done at about May every year, approximately 30k kms.

That’s what I’ve done and seen.
