Hi All,
I’ve read a lot of these threads about travel trailers. Thank you to all that have shared your years of experience. My wife and I are looking into buying a TT and are stuck between 2 models. I have never towed more than a landscaping trailer which I felt pretty comfortable with but no where near the weight of size of a TT. I am now stuck with the internal debate of a longer tandem axel Jayco Jay Flight SLX 8 264Bh vs a smaller single axel Wolf Pup JGBL.
The Jayco dry weight is 4750 with tongue weight of 470 and about 30’
The Wolf Pup dry weight 3900 with tongue weight 430 and about 24’
I have a stock sport max tow with 1500 payload according to sticker. I figure I’ll be good with payload. So the debate is is the extra 1000 lbs worth the extra axel. As much as I care about the interior benefits of the bigger trailer, if driving it will feel less stable than the smaller one, I am not sure it’s worth it. I hope to travel around the east coast and maybe even some day cross country if that means anything. Thanks in advance!
