My dealer set it up for me. I got the emails on my phone and setup a password. Everything was working before I drove it off the lot. Some have reported doing it by using the Activation icon on the App page.
Thanks - tried all the set up at home. I'm gonna call the dealer tomorrow and see if we can get it done over the phone. If that fails, will run it by the dealership. Appreciate the follow-up...thanks again.

'afternoon. Picked up my new Gladiator on 4/17/20. I'm in the Uconnect app and have successfully tested and used the Lock, Unlock, Horn/Lights, etc. functions but when I press the INFO button at the bottom of the screen, I get the prompt VEHICLE DATA UPDATING but after about 30 secs. I get "Your vehicle data could not be retrieved." Have I missed a box click somewhere along the line? FYI - I've got the 8.4" screen. Also, there's activation function in the Apps menu - wants name and email - but it never gets beyond that. Ready to call salesperson that sold me the vehicle but thought somebody here might have a solution. Thanks in advance.
Mine did that. Jeep chat fixed it for me.

Contacted jeep via their chat function. They updated their system to show me as owner, then the Uconnect started showing all of my jeep's diagnostics.

Thanks. It was wild - I was waiting in the Glad for my Chinese food yesterday and I got an email from Uconnect with account info., etc. I immediately went to the app and it loaded up nicely and all my vehicle info. was there. So, I'm all set. Thanks to all for chiming in on this.

I realize this thread is 6 months old but has anyone figured out, or read "anywhere", about the timing of updating the "vehicle data"? Mine updates anywhere from "1 hour" to "over a week ago".

There doesn't seem to be any consistency to when it happens. There has be something that determines when and sends new data to the app..

I've rebooted, checked for software updates, connected the phone through Bluetooth and by wire and nothing seems to trigger an update. My Jeep is bone stock with no mods.

I recently changed phone carriers from AT&T to Spectrum but they use AT&T's network. This would be a usable benefit if it would update at least every 24 hours or at least after driving for a specified time.

Anyone have any new information? Thanks!

Uconnect relies on the AT&T cellular network for communication. If the signal is weak, or has to rely on roaming agreements, updates will not be consistent. AT&T has good coverage here. Mine usually updates daily, or with every trip when driven less.

Yes, it's definitely not anywhere close to realtime even when in use and in excellent mobile coverage. Borderline useless information. Can't even rely on it being the most recent usage.

While the dealer this week, I asked the service advisor about this. He said that data from the vehicle gets "pushed" up through the satellite connection and then onto the cell network for download to the the phone app.

Not sure if this correct but it could explain the erratic timeframe of updates on the app.

The Uconnect system is managed by SiriusXM. The satellite radio is used only to receive data from SiriusXM. The AT&T cellular network is used for Uconnect communications. In areas where the AT&T coverage is weak, or relies on roaming agreements with other carriers, communication will be erratic. The Uconnect phone app communicates with the SiriusXM servers using the phone's internet connection.

Not that I doubt you but, where exactly is this stated? I have great ATT coverage in my area but sometimes it takes a week+ to update.

Hmmm, where have I seen this posted before....... oh, wait, I remember now.

;-)

My Jeep only updates when I head to town. Heck, most folks can't get any cell reception in my area at all. The only towers for MILES are USCellular and it's hilly and like much of the south half of Iowa, wooded, trees EVERYWHERE - oh, and hills. There's a reason the State of Iowa has contracts with USCellular and Verizon........ no one else has squat for coverage in much of this state (some call it the state of Iowa, I call it the state of Confusion)

Once I enter my garage - or even lean-to, all bets are off. My phone won't even work then.
But then my shop is double-steel walled with a steel ceiling and roof, still lining the support posts of the lean-to with multiple layers of steel for the roof. My garage - lots of wiring out there, losts of lights that interfere with radio, wi-fi and cell communications.

Cell signals are mostly line-of-sight and won't penetrate steel walls or even some buildings so if you garage your truck..........

I don't remember where it is stated. I think there is information buried in the Uconnect and SiriusXM websites.
SiriusXM also manages the system used in my Nissan Leaf. I learned all about it when I had to buy a new cellular modem for my Leaf, and it took the dealer eight weeks working with Nissan and SiriusXM to get it working again.

Mine updates regularly, but is also always outside. I don't have a garage to park in.

I know this is an older thread but I have a very similar issue, brand new gladiator rubicon, setup guardian, lock, unlock, remote start all works but it cannot retrieve my vehicle information and same message from mopar website and Jeep app says my subscription not active… yet I have email from Sirius saying all is good, Sirius says it is a display issue in the vehicle and need to take it to the dealer but the Jeep is only three days old, does not make sense. Tried all the basic stuff like logging in and out of apps but get nothing, drove all around and into Toronto and still nothing.. any clue on this without a useless trip to dealer?
