Anyone purchase an unbranded Rubicon steel bumper off EBay? If so what do you think of it.

I think they are the same ones sold on Amazon. About the only negative I've heard about is the finish might not be as durable as the original. This guy did a review on his.

I've had one for almost two years now and it's just fine. I did use the factory tow hooks, but that's just because the knock off red wasn't quite right on mine. Otherwise no complaints. The people that say they suck have never seen one.

agreed with all fo the above. I used my original tow hooks because the paint on the ebay tow hooks was terrible. quadratic sells replacement plastic trim pieces for the front to replace the included ones that have parking sensor cutouts

So I see it comes with or without led lights. Do the stock fog lights work in this bumper?

It comes with aftermarket LED fog lights. I wound up leaving them on, bright and I like the look. You can use stock LED fog lights that mount to the steel bumper (different bracket than if you’re pulling them from a plastic bumper)

Also to note, the tow hooks that come with it do not fit in the plastic rubicon bumper, so it definitely hurts resale on that if it was your plan

Only way to really tell if it’s a knock off or not is the two additional holes right in the front of the bumper above the cover where the winch line would go.

After a bit of a rough first go on the winch mount install (thanks again to Shadow’s Papa for some good pics to get me on the right path) I got it done and I am 100% happy. Had it on for about 9 months now. Mounted a Warn M8000 and there is no flex in the winch tray. I also subbed my original hooks because I prefer the black. I used plastic plugs purchased on Amazon to fill the extra holes. So far the finish is looking good. If I have any issues I’m going to just roll on a coat of bed liner. Go for it, it’s a legitimate deal.

Mine has been on for 10 months, through a winter, through 100 degree heat, salt, mud, whatever. So far, so good. First two pics were when I first put it on, the other two are recent pics.
So far, no rust.
GREAT fit - no trouble at all installing it. It went right on. Easy.
What can I say - it fits, it works, it looks fine IMO.

That was one of my thoughts - multiple options there. I found bed liner in a spray can that doesn't look bad, sort of a black crinkle finish if it comes to that. Roll on, spray, powder coat, whatever. For the price you can spend some time and money later if you need to touch things up.

Yeah, my winch is HUGE physically so I had to trim a bit of the top of the bumper - but that's not the bumper's fault, I bought a huge winch!
