You could be my neighbor
I live in a mountain town en route a recreational area. On my 12 minute drive to the grocery store each day, I see on average 12-20 JLs. Waving that many times on the way there and back is a bit annoying sometimes, yeah.

To be fair, I do prefer anonymity.
I live in a mountain town. Near the sout entrance to Yosemite and just off the turn off to bass lake
travel south. To San Diego 1 a week. Run from 3400 ft toabout 200. Feet then back to 4400 then sea level. All at 80 plus running. 37s. I love this truck. I had. Jkur jlur. And this thing rocks.

I'm shopping the Gladiator against the Bronco. Regardless of which one I get. It will have full time 4wd. It seems ridiculous these days to not get something like that.

On wet roads you have inferior traction to almost every other vehicle on the road. Full time 4wd for $600 is a no brainer in my mind. I'm truly amazed that nobody gets it.

Cybertruck. Never have to shift in to AWD again- there are motors in each wheel. And the heat from the batteries catching fire is handy.

But seriously - to the OP - you do you . I think you kind of invited a bit of trolling on yourself but I respect that everyone has different needs. I live in flatland with a lot of snow - shifting into 4H at highway speeds (up to about 50ish) works fine for me - love that I don't have to be in neutral (I have the 6MT) - just let off the gas a bit. Now- when I replace my wife's Volvo XC90 with a JLUR auto I'll get her the selctrac transmission with 4H auto option and she'll also be getting a diesel because she does a lot of hiway driving (she's a realtor and lists properties all over western metro Twin Cities).
I can't wait to pick up my cybertruck with awd and full self driving. Will keep the Gladiator also, its been a great daily driver for me.

BEST of Luck-If Ya get stuck-Give US A CALL and WE Won't Laugh too MUCH!
on-road, that's more a function of tires than anything else. An AWD sedan with real snow tires will do better than a jeep on AT or MT tires in snow.

Of course a jeep on a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3s would be unstoppable. But I've found that most truck people don't seem to understand the value of a good set of snow tires. (though as a pilot, I suspect you do)

Been a while here but wanted to update the thread.

I traded the JT in for a 21' RAM 2500 Cummins in August. Got $56k for the Gladiator and paid $1k under MSRP for the RAM. A fair (if not great) deal in my opinion.

I'm extremely happy I made the trade as the RAM suits my needs far better. Full size bed, tons of storage for emergency gear and much more room for the family. The RAM has 850ft/lbs of torque and I'm averaging more than 22mpg over the last 6 weeks. With Diesel costing a dollar less than regular gasoline, it's a significant savings over the 16-17mpg I got with the Gladiator.

For a thousand bucks I can add another 150hp to the RAM and for a couple thousand more a CARLI suspension will contend with the Gladiator at speed.

I miss the Gladiator occasionally but the RAM fits me SOOO much better and I'm so happy I don't have to wave at 35 people each time I go to the grocery store. Big supporter of the JEEP Community still and thankful for all the help I got here.

I'm on the verge of selling my JTRD and buying an F250 SuperDuty due to all the troubles I've had with the diesel and no love from 3 different dealers or FCA on coming up with a solution to fixing them. I won't be jeepless because I will still have Cherokee and my Wrangler Rubicon.

I have the 2021 JTR gas version and I haven't had any issues with it so far, knock on wood. I haven't put a lot of miles on it yet either, mostly due to the Pandemic and working from home. I didn't purchase the Diesel version since I had read in the forums that they had some on going maintenance issues and that the gas powered Pentastar Engine has proven reliable. Part of the problem with Chrysler products is that they don't stand behind them when there is an issue. I had a similar experience with a Chrysler Sebring where the front end fell out from under me while driving they had a recall on it for that problem but because it was fixed under recall and then failed they wouldn't cover the vehicle. I still owed 8K on that vehicle that was basically totaled and insurance wouldn't cover it since it wasn't an accident. I ended up trading it in and tacking the amount owed onto the new vehicle. I probably should have fought harder but I needed another vehicle to get back and forth to work. I took a chance on a Jeep JTR after that experience but so far it's been good hopefully that will hold true over time. I've heard that some people have called Jeep Cares and have received good results in getting problems handled.

Retired and loving it
I used to when I was younger, but long distance trips would do me some damage. Driving 2,000 miles this week but not in the JT.
I do smile every time I walk past it in the garage when I do not get to drive it.
I’ve now put over 8K miles on mine in two months and can’t seem to ever get enough of it. I never understand those who say it’s not a good daily driver or that it’s bad on the highway, etc…
