Isn't it funny that when I rent cars my iPhone works perfectly with all other brands except Uconnect. This is a very buggy system and seems to be not well engineered.

Wow, I've just never had issues with our various iPhones on the Uconnect on my old 2011 Wrangler, my 2020 Gladiator or my wife's 2024 Wrangler and another half dozen rentals with Uconnect.

If you mean the phone will charge when cabled to one of the USB ports, it is still possible the cabe you are using is bad. USB feeds power on two pins. Two other pins are used for bi-directional data flow. it's rather unlikely I admit, that the data pins or wire in the cable on even. just one of these pins has "opened" (more likely than a "short"). Easy enough to set that cable aside and try another one you have or can buy , borrow or buy just about anywhere for under $10.

I think some cables only have two wires for charging-only. So make sure your cable is for power and data if its not one you have used in the JEEP before your current issue.

It would be ideal that this is the problem. But cables are pretty dependable and given the timing, it does seem like a software issue of the iPhone, or firmware in the JEEP. For this, I would definitely do a power off, and full restart of the iPhone. Without it cabled to the JEEP. Then plug in the cable and see if you're working now. Yes? Great. No? grrr. So then -

With the phone not connected, somebody else might explain how to restart the infotainment system, short of disconnecting the batteries under the hood, and then reconnect. Which I think takes some time to really get all systems refreshed and functioning. I haven't had to mess with this myself.

I’d say cabling issue. iPhones get squirrelly with non Apple cables, or even bad ones. Also my VPN causes issue like you’re describing. Hope you’re not running it in the background.

Thanks- yes, I can connect thru Bluetooth and get music but that is all
Mine was working fine before upgrading software to 18.2.2
You are on beta? My phone that is on Beta is on 18.2.2. My personal phone is on 18.2 which is not Beta.

I hope someone can help me here.
My 8.4 radio system has always worked perfectly ('23 Gladiator Rubicon) and a couple of days ago my Iphone software was updated. When I got in the Jeep I noticed my Apple CarPlay would not work and I find that the 2 USB ports are not hot (I dont know how else to describe them but they are not highlighted as they were before where you pick from USB or select your source). I have checked fuse F51 and its good.

I feel that there is a direct correlation between the software update on the phone and the Uconnect quit functioning
I have same/similar problem. Uconnect app basically said it no longer supports Carplay and I should use the Jeep app. I have the Jeep app and it does not connect Carplay to the the Jeep. I have a 2021 Gladiator Rubicon. Carplay worked great until mid-December 2024 when either the phone or Uconnect updates occurred.

Advise I received should this ever happen was to pair the phone as if you are starting from scratch.
