How do you know the odometer they put in was an accurate conversion from the original Kilometers to Miles?

In the menu for the cluster you can select the units of measure to display.

That does not work for the odometer. You can change the digital speedometer to display MPH or KMPH, but a USA market cluster will always display miles for the odometer and a Canadian market cluster will always display kilometers for the odometer.

My 2012 f150 had it so you could switch the odo from miles to kms when swapping the speed from miles to kms.

Ok, but the JT cluster does not do this.

If someone wants to post proof orherwise, I will eat crow and stand corrected.

Ok, I was mistaken it is not in the EVIC, to change the units of measure the menu is in the uconnect, go to settings, units, select custom and you can select miles or kilometers. Tried it in mine and it does change the odometer.

This is all very interesting because I've had a "plot change". Long story short, my center instrument cluster blacked out on me. Yes, it stopped working!
The solution, at this point, is for the dealership will order the replacement from Mopar & tell them what to "program" the odometer to say before they ship it to my dealership. This matches up with what the used car dealership told me too.

Fingers crossed it all works out.

Here's an interesting twist and/or question for you all. How does my Jeep App on my phone know to display the "miles" on the odometer, rather than "kilometers" on my odometer?

This is not a one off situation. This dealership imports a lot of cars from Canada & this is my 2nd one of them just a lot more miles on this one. They are a reputable used car dealership that I have no reason to think would not do this part correctly either, especially since they do it in volume.

They say there's a regulated program & procedure followed to make sure the odometer readings are correct. Sounds like thousands of Canadian vehicles are imported every year.

Update: Last week we traded the 2020 Gladiator in for a 2026 Gladiator. Thus the instrument cluster problem is no longer our problem. The dealership has it now & I'm not looking back.

Wow! The improvements from a 2020 to a 2026 are mind blowing... dispite them pretty much looking the same (to a casual observer).
