If the original poster trusted ChatGPT to be right, they wouldn't be here double-checking what it said. So they don't trust the AI - and that means don't go to the AI to solve problems or think for you; or if you do, don't come and complain about the answer it gave.
I'm not complaining about the answer it gave. My trepidation isn't out of fear it could be wrong. It is more born from the fact I have zero experience working on the rear driveshaft. I'm simply asking for a second opinion. If it's one thing this forum has a lot of it's opinions...

Since the slip yolk only slides in and out, there's not really any lash in this part of the system. Even if there was, grease won't fix lash
The slip yoke (not "yolk"; that's the yellow stuff inside an egg) could indeed develop lash if the splines are worn, which could be caused by lack of grease. But once it's worn, regreasing it won't fix the wear, though it may quiet the noise somewhat.
