Complaining aside, what would be a dealbreaker?

I would be ok with that as I only want the led lighting and trailer towing options. Maybe I'll feel sassy and add the steel bumper group too.

Price
Lack of comparable features with something like the Colorado.

Would love to be able to haul 4x8 sheets of plywood/sheetrock somehow. Not convinced that the Gladiator is gonna be mine as much as I want one.

I would pay $60K but not with the reliability issues Jeep has had. I just don't know...if the Rubi is $60K they won't sell many of them as people who need a truck to haul a real load (trailers, etc...) will be buying a big diesel or a hemi.
Maybe this will be a good thing for those who would wait a year+.... supply demand and maybe teach a lesson to those who are trying to make it "intentionally expensive". Maybe they should make it "intentionally reliable".

Its also going to be interesting to see price wise how it stacks up against the new Power Wagon and Rebel TR & TRX. Both of which I would assume we will see pricing for sometime in 2019. I could see a fully loaded Diesel Rubicon JT being close to both the Power Wagon (after incentives) and Rebel TR (although there will be zero incentives on the TR or TRX) .... TRX will be a $85K truck so that will be no where near the pricing of the JT.

looking at the pricing you guys are predicting once they get it here & translate that to aussie dollars itll be the same price as a 79 series land cruiser & thats got a 4.5 l turbo diesel v8 & toyota reliability better pay load & towing its a no brainer

Same here and have to think the FCA Jeep Product team at least watches the commentary posted here. After all, it's a free focus group.

Dealbreakers:

#1 = MORE LAUNCH DELAYS. I'm timing my daily driver replacement on the JT launch window. Quit delaying this darn vehicle FCA. You aren't building a rocket ship to the moon or a Bugatti - you are stretching a JL.

#2 = GREEDY PRICING. What kind of arrogant a$$hat executive (R.I.P. Marchione) makes public statements like "intentionally expensive"? Reality Check FCA: you are NOT American Expedition Vehicles so you can't price this thing like an AEV Brute. Price it completely out of line with JLs and all that $ spent on JT development will never be recovered and you will disengage both your current and future customer base. And do simple economics from customer perspective...a $6K upcharge buys a lot of fuel and could make a diesel option not viable for some customers. Keep in mind that, in the end, we are paying for utility *NOT* exclusivity.

#3 = EXTENDED ORDER TIMEFRAMES. Screw ups like bringing key features to market months and months after a launch date really are inexcusable and simply pisses people off (i.e., 7+ months to get 4 cylinder engine JLs, 8+ months for 2 door JLs, no Diesel engine for 12+ months post JL launch). Same goes for Supplier Parts shortages that further delay build dates (i.e., no LED lights, the 2018 MOAB cornucopia of leftover excess supply parts).

I'm pretty much set on a base JT Rubicon with no options, so I guess #3 won't really apply to me. Save perhaps the Diesel engine...but that engine needs to be available at launch.

This should be the biggest news for FCA in 2019. Manley should have this launch both prioritized, staffed by the "A" team, and under his thumb. Period.

This is exactly my plan, down to the sassiness... presuming you're talking about starting with a Rubicon.

The "4x8" test is my primary reason for ever venturing away from my JK (though increased tow/increased payload also contribute.)

I hope that the "intentionally expensive" isn't to make it 60k+ and be like a Raptor. They also said "limited numbers" so again, make it expensive and plan on not many people buying. Ugh I hope that's not the route they go. /c:

The other thing stated was ‘lifestyle vehicle’.

I won’t be surprised to see this in the $60k or higher range with all of the comments that have been made. An intentionally expensive limited numbers lifestyle vehicle is not made to compete with Chevy or Ford, but rather a status symbol like the Brute with more utility and function. I want one but if it’s priced how I think it will be I might wait for a used one or look into leasing.

Yeah I mean if I'm going to get a "truck" then it needs to be somewhat practical. Ha.

I agree with you though, the limited numbers/intentionally expensive probably means I won't be looking at one anytime soon. FCA sees demand for the vehicle after denying for years (decades?) and intentionally shorts the market while having sky-high prices? No doubt people will buy it, but I hope not if their strategy is as ridiculous as it seems.

You guys scare me with all the $60k talk. Me, I’m looking at a lot less. When I saw where a JT model could be a Sport, I was glad,! Pricing the JT Sport on the JL Sport list I was thinking $35k starting. With 3pc hardtop n towing maybe near 39k! I. Can go there but not much higher.
