With a relay, you can tie them directly to the reverse lights and also manually turn them on with a switch. It would save you some manual switching.
thanks for the suggestion. i ended up rewiring the backup lights to the trailer plug since I need the auxiliary switches for another application

I dont' think you even need to use a relay. Just wire them into the reverse lights if that meets your needs. They look like they draw less power than factory incandescents.

Have you had any issues with this connection point?

I just ordered some rigid flush mounts and plan to do the same. May install an inline flush push button Switch as a means to kill the auxiliary lights as needed…but thiswas my “go to” for tapping into the reverse lights.

I did the same and it's worked great. I didn't want to tap my factory wiring, so I bought this and plugged it in between the factory wiring and the trailer plug, and then tapped the backup light wire in this harness for my Vision X lights. I did this so that if I ever needed or wanted to remove it, I would have a fully intact factory harness.

Is the dot reflective tape holding up well (peeling?), and what brand/where did you get the reflective tape?
i think i used 3M scotchlite reflective tape. it’s held up fine for 3 years. i actually bought some DOT-C2 tape in case i ever needed to replace the 3M tape but that hasn’t been necessary yet.

How's everyone else's lights holding up?
Installed mine back in July, 2021 (see post here) and they work fantastic and I love them.
So much so that I took them off to move to my new Gladiator. Ick!

Considering they want something like $125 for just the brackets, I would have hoped they would have held up better than this.

Wow, that makes me love my Oracle lights even MORE! Yikes.
Mine have been on 2 Jeeps now, tons of salt, snow and crap.

The brackets are junk. I need to pull mine and send them out to be powder coated again. The ones on the hood are only a little better.

I like the lights, but they are overpriced for what they are - and not by a little. I only have them thanks to the previous owner of my truck.

Those brackets remind me of the screws that held the blind spot monitoring sensor bracket on my oracle flushmount tailights.

On sale! Regular price is $158. They were powdercoated. I don't know what the problem is, poor prep?

I am probably just going to clean them up, hit them with ospho, and then slather them in rustoleum. Though the thought did occur to me to use this as an excuse to buy that Eastwood Hotcoat PCS-250 I keep eyeballing.

Probably poor prep.

And that's a stupid price for parts cut in seconds then cheap powder tossed on them. I bet it costs a whopping 5 bucks to make each piece

I'm on my second PC gun.
I use a network equipment rack to hang parts from and took our old oven to my shop to use for this purpose.
Have a shelf dedicated to various powders and masking plugs and hanging wires.
