I would like one to fit on a 813 AluCab Canopy Camper rear camera bracket. I have the tailgate camera mounted on it and it works perfect for reversing but I want a camera to wifi with my tablet so I can keep track on whats behind me like you can with the now gone rear view mirror. Ideas, Thanks.

This is one nice feature of the Tazer mini - double-tap the mute button to bring up the rear camera. And there’s also the camera app in the uconnect apps - which you can put in the quick dock. Or there are mirror-shaped LCD displays that you can hook up where the mirror used to be.

I think I’d prefer any of those to having another device and charging cord around the dash and faffing about with wireless video. I had an aftermarket wireless rear view camera on a previous truck, and it worked only about 85% of the time and there was nothing you could do to figure out why - just hope it would connect on the next start.

I have a Tazer and works as you said but the backup camera perspective is worthless for seeing a car 200' away, so small looking its worthless, I just want a camera that will give me a view equal or better than the review mirror. I have a CMM Ball Mount rearview mirror replacement to hold my tablet.

I’d look for the narrowest possible field of view on the camera then. Most advertise how wide they are instead, which will reduce faraway cars to a single pixel.

I do wish the back-up camera had a regular mode to go with the current fisheye mode. To your point, it is hard to see too far back.

I used my Tazer to have the back-up camera come on when I put on my turn signal. During tourist season down here, there are bikers everywhere that feel like they own the road. I guess they have the same right to the road that I do but I don’t pass cars who are about to turn in my Jeep—they do. The camera is good to see them coming up from behind. Non-fisheye mode would be even better.

Plus, the fisheye view makes backing up a bit dodgy since it is curved so much. I feel that mode is only good when backing out of a parking space when cars are on both sides. I would rather have a regular camera view otherwise.
