Depends on the winch. Some at full power pull well over 400.

I run a cable from the battery positive to one side of the winch solenoid.
From that same terminal, I go with a short cable up to that plow fuse.
That way I'm using one cable to power both winch and plow since they will never be operated at the same time (not physically possible anyway)
Then of course from the output of the solenoid - to the winch.
Both the plow and winch have negative cables running up to the battery. It would be nice if I could tie the winch negative to the plow negative and have one single ground cable going up to the battery. May consider that some day but it would mean a junction out there "somewhere" so again, maybe not.
Good information! I will keep this in mind should I ever install a plow or other High amperage mod. The plow is really unlikely. I am in Southern California and the only snow I see is at Disneyland going up the Matterhorn!

Used the warm power interrupt kit and fabri-cobbled my own bracket to mount the solenoid. Used aux switches so didn't have to run a switch to the cab. Finally wrapped all hot wires in a teflon loom. Was a little bit of work to wire it correctly but happy with how it turned out.

Nice and neat and the wrap will add another layer of protection.

Thanks to 22EcoDs for testing the Under hood electrical plate! He has confirmed that using the electrical plate of the diesel fuse box is possible. The hole pattern is slightly shorter so with the current batch of plates I have in stock you will need to enlarge one of the holes slightly to make the plate fit. I will adjust for that in the next batch I have produced. See attached photos of the fitment test.
