Had a dealer tell me this once, went to another dealer and they said, "not only are they lying but I bet they didn't tell you FCA reimburses them the 1% of invoice". If you have FCA affiliate pricing you should be able to get 1% below invoice PLUS any other negotiating you do.

So if most are getting 5-6% below invoice, you should be getting 7-8%.

I just bought yesterday, was able to get 5% below invoice, with FCA Affiliate it was 6%. My wife's work no longer is FCA affiliate but the dealership honored the 6% anyway.

I am a member of Costco, like so many others I'm sure. I tried out their Costco car buying program and was given a number that shocked me a little. They merely offered me an up front price of $1500 off sticker for a Willy's. I about chocked on my lunch when I saw the offer. At least the dealer could have provided a little better enticing offer to get me to want to haggle a little. I ended buying my JT from another dealer at close to $7k off a sticker of $49K. happy with my purchase and so glad I shopped around.
