I bought the 60,000 mile warrenty July of 2019

The TSB 08-074-20 for the Stearing box was done in Oct of 2020.

At 45055 miles in Feb of 2024 I had an issue with the steering and took it in.

Here is word for word written on the work order:

CUSTOMER STATES ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LAMPS ARE ON.
CHECK AND ADVISE
TECH ROAD TESTED AND VERIFIED STEERING VERY LOOSE AND WHEEL OFF CENTER. TECH CHECKED STEERING
COMPONENTS AND FOUND PITMAN ARM NUT LOOSE. TECH REMOVED TRAC BAR AND NUT. TECH ADDED THREAD LOCK AND REINSTALLED TO FACTORY SPECS, REINSTALLED TRAC BAR, STRAIGHTENED STEERING WHEEL AND RE-INSTALLED ABS. TECH RE-ROAD TESTED AND RECHECKED OK.

BILL $432.34 DUE

I was told the warrenty did not cover the repair.

First line in the warranrt IF IT'S MECHANICAL-IT'S COVERED

Needless to say I was mad, went in and spoke to the man that sold me the warrenty nothing was done for me.
I called the waranty hotline twice and spoke to two broken English people that could not understand the problem.

I told the warranty salesman I had the TSB done by them and they would have been the only to have loosed those nuts.

That was in Feburary of 2024. From tht moment on I hated the Jeep
Company.

I got rid of it last week.

There’s a reason warranties have multiple pages. One line cannot adequately describe coverage. Especially when it comes to extended warranties.

No way to know what’s really right here.

Sooooooo........

You have no mechanical break down or broken part. You're mad a Jeep because an aftermarket warranty would not cover something that was not broken? I get that right?

Good luck on your next brand. :like:

I would think the argument would be that the thread lock should have been done at build. But for that- the repair would not have been needed. I would also think a warranty would cover that but without reading the contact I couldn't say. If it excludes all fluids. Anticlock is a fluid. I could see this being excluded.

My rear window leaked. Jeep did cover it but sent it to a glass shop to have it repaired. Afterwards the window still leaked. Took it back to the dealer and was told it's no longer covered by the warranty because a 3rd party did the repair work.

Jeep sucks at honoring warranties and work they have done on your vehicle.

If the dealership did the TSB and would have loosened said parts would they not be the ones who should be responsible for it coming loose ??
Nope, if you drove it off the lot after the TSB was completed then clearly it’s your fault… unfortunately that’s how the world works these days.

The lawyers know how to get out of a warranty claim. It's what they do. They do I every day and have the backing of Jeep. Look at my list of mods in my sig. Is there any part left that Jeep would cover under warranty?

@Baxter Could you explain that to @Josh00333 .

As I said the first line in bold print of the warranty is IF IT'S MECHANICAL-IT'S COVERED

They sold me the warranty (not aftermarket as one fool here said) and they did the prior TSB,
not to mention you talk to claims representatives that speak poor English. Thats the bitch in a nut shell.

A nut and a bolt are as basic as mechanical gets.

I,ve had the truck since 2019. I really liked it. It pulls my camper realy well, gets good gas milage with the Max Tow Package.
It was this and this alone that turned me agaist Jeep or anything else at this dealership. I'd go back to Tacoma but they went to a turbo charged lawn mower engine, so thats out.

I only post this hear to help others who are thinking about buying the extended MOPAR (not aftermarket) warranty.

Don't buy it and if you live in Cortland Ohio, don't get it there.

Those that are waiting to modify your Jeeps for warranty purposes, move forward with your build. Jeep will find a way to get out of the repair anyway.

The steering box TSB was somewhat of a boondoggle when released. The TSB told the techs to follow Tech Authority Instructions for removal and replacement of the steering gear which tells them to remove the pitman arm nut, discard and replace with new. The TSB at least through REV. F did not give them a new replacement Pitman Arm nut that would come with pre-installed dried thread locker in the required parts listing so most dealership techs threw the old one back on as-is.

Sucks to hear but 90% of your problem was the shit dealer you dealt with. Jeep does not care you left the brand as someone with a similar story from another brand comes over to replace you.
