Over the weekend I was driving to our property, 3.5 hrs on interstate. Half way up the auto start disabled alarm goes off. I stopped at rest stop powered off and back on the alarm stayed on. Got to property and parked. The next day the alert went away but after 30 miles into a drive, the hood open alert went off and stayed on until I parked for day. Next day neither alert and no alerts after 350 miles of driving. I checked battery charge via dash board and it was listing 13.3. also I did nothing to fix it.

Check the two hood switches up by the radiator. Make sure they are clean and move freely. Check the hood latches and make sure the hood is sitting properly and tightly closed.

Switches are clean and move smoothly. No movement in hood when latched down

Had this few years ago. Isolated both batteries and load tested good. Ended up being an intermittent issue with the hood switch. I believe it was the outer switch. Connectors were tight and no corrosion. Replaced switch and problem fixed.

The switches explain the hood alert, but not the auto start disabled alert, the two in conjunction confuse me

One of the switches is tied to the auto start stop disable function other is hood open alarm dash light.

Am I seeing things or is there a trend when the weather changes temps there are more electrical issues. I haven’t actually gone in and looked or researched but could it be battery terminals or the fuse box connections are expanding/contracting due to temps and causing gremlins?

Spot on. The ESS system checks the hood closed switch position as part of its readiness state.
