I'm sorry for bringing this here, but I can't find an answer anywhere.
My daughter just brought home a 2022 JL 2door & I have no idea what the heck this piece is on her jeep.
it's not on the drivers side just passenger. Was not on my Gladiator either.
is this something they mount for shipping ??
any help would be appreciated.

I believe there was a post about this recently and it was deducted that it was a bracket from shipping that should have been removed during PDI

I thought it was decided the piece is to keep the tire from rolling under in a collision.

Pull it if you don't like it.

It's the new safety brace or bracket or whatever they call it. As mentioned above, it's to prevent the Jeep from tripping over its own feet and rolling over in a 1/4 frontal crash.

mine has it to. picked it up last weekend. anyone take it off yet? looks like 2 of the bolts may hit the body behind the rock slider before you can actually get them out.

My coworker got his Glad in April. I got mine in May. His doesn't have it, mine does. Just in case anybody was wondering when they started adding those, specifically.

I haven't removed mine because why remove something that isn't causing any negative issues and is resolving a potential safety issue.

But at the same time, once it's lifted and bigger tires are put on, who knows if it would be doing anything helpful at all. The tire's probably going to fold under it anyway. Could be detrimental, even. The whole act of lifting a Jeep and adding bigger tires surely negates the rollover mitigation anyway.

?

So I removed the bracket. Surprise, surprise the Jeep did not blow up. lol. Seriously no adverse effects and would actually cause more damage on my 3.5" lifted gladiator on 37's in a front end accident.

I'm going to remove mine too, weight reduction with several other dumb things like the loop pipe off from the drivers side cat, spare tire and unneed spare tire heat shield
