Heya

Yessir. It was so emotional to pick my my baby last week. The repair shop went above and beyond..they ordered the exact window visors I had and also swapped out the rock rails with my RC side steps. And then polished the whole exterior and treated the inside with some sorta "leather" fragrance. When I picked it up, it felt like a brand new vehicle.

Repair literally took 10 weeks as Jeep was back-ordered on some parts and repair shop had to replace the whole harness but everything they used was oem. I work from home so I told them I'd rather wait and get a fully restored truck than rush the repair and get a half-assed job ;). Repair cost was $26k!!!!! Other insurance fully paid for it.

Accidents effing sucks so stay safe yall!!. We all love our trucks but in a split second, your whole life changes!. New picture ..same side that got t-boned by that 16 yr old texting driver.

Did you get a diminished value payout? They won’t offer this, you have to ask and be firm about it. Should be >$5K for something like this. Your vehicle is worth less now, and the other person’s insurance owes you the difference. What I have done in the past is paid out of pocket for a third party appraisal specifically to determine the amount of diminished value. The other person’s insurance will usually accept the amount.

Last diminished value payout I received was about 10 years ago on a vehicle worth about half what yours is, and the damage to it cost about a third less to fix. The appraisal and payout for diminished value was around $4,700, IIRC. This was on top of them fully paying to repair the vehicle.

^ I didnt bother...I was just glad to get it back. And I'm planning to keep this for 100K (unless it starts falling apart or diesel emissions issue). So not really concerned with the diminished value factor. Last diesel was my BMW X5 (no longer made) and it lasted me well over 80k with very minor issues so I'm looking forward to enjoying this. Cheers.

If you plan on keeping it, a $5k diminished value claim would pay for a lot of upgrades. Fact is, it’s worth less now and you are entitled to be compensated for that.

It would be leaving money on the table not asking for it if entitled.
