I appreciate all the knowledge I've read here, as I'm not really a Jeep guy, although I had a YJ w/ a 327 Chevy Motor. It was a beast, but a constant project. I am really a motorcycle/Harley guy. That being said we needed a tow vehicle as a toad for flat towing behind RV. You guys are going to cost me a bunch of $$$. Not sure how deep this rabbit hole goes.... but here we are... Dam....My kids don't need the inheritance ....So far in 2 weeks.....
Sync Garage door/homelink - free but needed
Stubby antenna - that stock one is horrible
Hitch cover - HD of course
Ditch light bracket
Door sill protectors - not mounted yet. picture was test fit.
Bed cover - roll n lock M series XT
Bed rack for paddle boards and surf rods - amazon, very similar to Yakima, but much cheaper. All bolts will be touched up with black bedliner and black acorn nuts. Not a fan of the chrome hardware.
Not mounted yet, amber spot for bumper and amber spots for ditch lights as we drive on the beach at night for fishing.

Nicely done, your JT looks great! Can you share a link to your rack from Amazon?

Any reception pros/cons to stubby antennas?
I have mentioned before in another thread, there is a science to antenna length and reception. Most people who live around larger urban areas that have more popular radio stations that will have multiple transmitter repeater towers for larger coverage, will never see an appreciable loss of reception with a stubby antenna.

Move or drive out to the middle of nowhere in the non urban Midwest or the like, those stubby antennas will drop reception quicker the farther from a radio station transmitter than the factory length antenna. FM more than AM due to the difference in transmitting wave propagation.

I have a .50 Cal bullet style Amazon antenna and on occasion the signal will drop in & out and I am in an urban/suburbs area. But I spend more time on XM, Pandora, or Iheart radio than I I do on local stations.

I put a 6ā€ stubby on and thought it was great. Until my Sirius trial subscription ran out. Reception was horrid. Had to buy a 16ā€. All good now

My kids don't need the inheritance
My parents don't have money, so I've never had this conversation with them, but I've told my in-laws many times that they worked for decades to earn it, so they ought to spend every dollar they want guilt-free.

The thing most people don’t understand about full length antennas is they’re that length for multiple reasons. First is reception, and second is the fact that they come just a touch taller than the highest point of your vehicle. That way if you pull into a garage or parking structure and you hit the antenna, you’ll know to be cautious while driving in.

I wasn’t worried about reception as I use Spotify or Amazon Music… Not much of a radio listener

Fully understand some of the reasons… The biggest problem was that things swings back-and-forth on a regular basis, way too much action on the right corner of my eye and distraction when driving
