There most likely getting the specs right ect on paint. With each color there is always a process where it must be examined adjusted ect. Not sure if they use the same robots but the ones from the auto plant I work at can change to 9+ colors in a matter of seconds so there is no special booth for special colors, there in line with all regular colors
That’s what I figured about paint bots... but they already have the color “Granite Chrystal” mixed for the JLs... if it was a color they wanted introduce in 2021, I’d understand! But if it wasn’t available, why put it on the color choice list for the LEs? I suspect it has more to do with the overwhelming number of requests for the color. Not sure why that would be an issue, maybe they want to use all their Paint Bot bays, simultaneously, to do one big run of the Granite? ;{

It could be that or enormous amounts of other colors there painting. There also running the trucks that are just now hitting dealerships lots. So you have your Le's and regular models plus all the colors. Somewhere they said there running only 80 to 100 of these a day so there getting hit all directions and that's a low build quality right now .But production will ramp up bigger numbers once the employees and everyone else get the hang of it

Tell that to the hyper green crowd.
Every color definitely develops a cult following...but that doesn’t change the fact that core colors sell in the greatest quantity.

Dealers act like they are gold....look at the resale.

So order banks opened today for the 4 basic colors only (red, black, white, silver)...not for Granite. So now those custom orders will likely be put in the queue in front of Granite LEs. So much for no longer being "late availability".

They said Pilotpats Granite was already in pre-production (painting doors etc..) probably a different paintbot line, but maybe not? Maybe they have one Granite paint line going? ;{

Just an observation, I noticed with the JLs last year, no delay with granite crystal.

They have to paint doors, fenders, roofs. Once they have enough they have to slap it all together with bubble gum. Swear a Jeep insider tole me it. Now if y'all was nicely about it, maybe they'd serve it up on a plywood block for ya like they did below for these nice customers. Lmao (ps pls sell old Fivers your granite crystal LE in a couple years) lol
