Agreed to buy some Rubicon take-offs wheels locally. They have the Falken mud tires on them not the A/T. I'm 90% daily driver living in New England. Thinking M/T wasn't as smart of a choice for me. If I put just the tires up on FB or Craigslist (or here) what should I expect? I could then maybe buy a bigger Falken AT on-line. Or maybe I'm overthinking it and I should stick with the MT? Thanks for any help.

$300 to move the more minty they are. Anything more and expect to sit on them awhile.

People on CL want a deal any anything below $100 a tire for take offs around here moves them.

Anytime I’ve sold tires/wheels on Craigslist I post at about 50% of new. 285/70 falken mts are about $200 new so like previous post said, maybe list at $400 if new with mold whiskers on them and take the first $300 or better offer.

You might want to leave them on the rims and drive on them for a few days first. You might be surprised. That’s what was on my JTR and they ride really smooth on the street. They are mud terrains but their not an aggressive knobby tread so they are fine on the road IMO.

I just talked to my local tire shop about this Wed. morning when I had my work truck in there for routine maintenance... He said his cost on a set of them (Falken WP M/T 285/70r17) was around $1,000 inc. mounted & balance, and since mine have less than 250 miles on them, I shouldn't have a problem getting around $750 for just the tires. And said he knows someone looking for a set...He'd let me know if he heard anything from the dude. Seemed a bit steep to me, but I'd be in for selling mine if I can get that much for them, despite not wanting to sell them until my lease is up, and the purchase loan is in my name.

Ask your tire guy if he will just buy them from you directly for $750. I bet he does not.

Possible obscure chance you could get $750 with your tire shop guy advocating to help the sale for you, but that is only if the buyer thinks your tire shop guy will be backing them if any issues arise.

Biggest issue that drops the take off tire price even if minty is that Falken and/or just about other tire manufacturer does not honor the tire warranty when the OE tires are transferred to another vehicle that they did not come with.

I checked the prices on Google and cheapest is $206 new so I'd try to get $150/ea but it depends on how fast you want to sell them/get the money. I've sold a lot of used tires in the last 6 years. I'd get a set on my Wrangler, not like them, get new ones and sell the others. Like others said, people want a 'deal' and then you also get that 'What's the lowest price you'll take' bs. Good luck. https://www.google.com/shopping/pro...X&ved=0ahUKEwi0kKeDoZrpAhU8hXIEHXytD-UQ0ykIPQ

Thank you. I'll take some good pics and post on FB and Craigslist. In the meantime, maybe I'll like the Falken M/T's. Keeping them would be easiest!

I sold mine for $500 to my friend who has an 08 Wrangler. They are nice looking but I don't need an MT and that's what came on the Rubicon when I bought it last August. To get some money to pay off debts, I traded it down to a Sport S at the end of February. I had a $500 coupon and FCA was offering $2000 cash so I got a pretty good deal.

Maybe give the MT a chance. I'm 90% daily driver as well, if not more, but chose MT. They're great on the trail but a great daily driver as well. Try it, you might like it. I'd guess the AT will last a little longer.

I paid $425 for a set of 255/75/17 (1/2" larger than OEM Sport tires) with 4k miles on them. VERY happy that I did and now looking to go to 35s after just 5k miles added to them. People sell Rubi take off tires+wheels for $1000 average in the KY/IN/OH/TN/VA area
