So, did you have to get any new replacement gaskets for the intake plenum, or are the originals reusable without any issues?
I think the worst part was on the driver side near the egr valve. The posts that hold that side of the manifold go through two brackets, that don’t have an obvious removal method. So you need to temove the egr, loosen the bracket, and carefully remove the manifold towards passenger to clear the long bolts that stay in the manifold. Super annoying.

Replaced spark plugs and installed high performance coil packs. It was a miserable job, and there’s more blood in my engine bay, but it’s done. No codes. It runs great. I can definitely feel a noticeable power increase. There was a lot of swearing. And getting the plugs out is rough. I had a magnetic plug socket on hand with a permanent hinged extension, but the magnet ring sticks in the tubes. So I went back to the old craftsman, and duct taped it to a 3/8 swivel, then duct taped the swivel to an outlet extension. It was mostly a nightmare.

What drove you to put in the Ripp coil packs? I have heard they are a mixed bag with complaints mainly from the JK guys using them causing misfires after awhile.

I was looking to get some lost high altitude power back, without risk, meaning no supercharger. I talked to them about the misfire reviews many years ago. They had a bad batch of about 40 sets, a long time ago. These are also gen2, and were shipped directly from them. I talked to them for quite a while. They alleviated all concerns I had. I liked that they strongly recommended staying with Oem plugs. They said the coils were designed specifically for them. I’ll report back with any problems, but so far so good. And it’s got a noticeable power increase.

Cool, sounds like you did your due diligence then. I am going off fuzzy memory of a few years back of some minor Jeep Youtuber channels that put them in as sponsored content on their JK's. After bout 30K miles, some started to have misfire issues and had to take out and go back to OEM. Had not really heard anybody talk good or bad about them on our PUG engines in the JL and JT.

I saw that as well, but couldn’t find much in the way of reviews newer than 5 years, so I just asked them point blank. Per RIPP, these are pretty aggressive and have an average life of 40k miles. For only $300 and some bleeding fingers, I’ll take the power gain. I’m happy to do it again in 40k. I wouldn’t feel the same at lower altitudes, but I was dying to help it in any way I can. I notice massive power loss the higher I go. I live at 8,600, and frequently drive at 11 and 12,000.

First time doing plugs? My one and only time doing them was on my 2020 Gladiator. Was a pisser but I learned enough from it that I think I can almost halve my time the next time I do it.

Today, I installed a Lasfit auxillary switch harness, Mopar light brackets, and a pair of Rigid Industries 360-Series LEDs with the white backlight. The brightness is incredible. Yesterday afternoon, I removed the Jeep letters and replaced them with the red Gladiator letters. All of these projects were relatively straight-forward. They'll probably be the last modifications I do to this truck as I need to get started on my M715. I'm removing the driveshafts, transfer case, and shocks tomorrow.

First time on the 3.6, but definitely not the first time. Once you actually access the tubes, it’s easy. 90 percent of the job was disassembly and reassembly.

So, does it still count as what *I* did to my Gladiator if I paid someone to do it for me?

Put on a Metalcloak bumper with the winch guard and skidplate, mid-width, and a Harbor Freight Badlands 12K. I think I need wider tires now. ?

Had AMP Powerstep XL's installed on my JT Friday. I have them on my JL daily driver and love them. I had ordered them for the Gladiator a couple years ago and there were supply issues and after waiting a couple of months I decided I didn't drive it enough to justify the cost and cancelled. Last week I decided to bite the bullet and got them on the Gladiator too.

I am sorry that Amazon is telling you this.

The Amazon link posted is the drain plug I ordered and fit both 2022 and 2023 Diesel gladiators.

I have posted the valvomax link to the Wrangler 3.0 ecodiesel for Fitment…. They do not list the gladiator with a diesel.

I recently bought a Fumoto F106SX M14-1.5 Sx Series Drain Valve. I will install it when I do my first oil change.

How’d you “fight” through this? I had same trouble
I used a tapered burr on a dremel tool to get down to the start of the threads and then used a thread chaser for clean up.

Having done it once, I could do it faster next time, but the coil packs are in such terrible spots. So many things need to be unhooked and removed to even get the intake manifold off. It’s ridiculous that it needs to be removed to get to coil packs. But I guess they are smashing these engines in there. Not much free space to make things easy.
Yep, a horrible design. Nice work.

My wife came out once. I apologized that it was taking so long, then I swore up a storm about how stupid it was that I had to remove that much crap to replace plugs. She didn’t realize I was replacing coils, nor would she have cared.
I just bought a topside creeper with this job in mind.
