I know. Thanks though. This is the recommended eyelet length for these shocks on springs this size, per SDI. They’re 4.5” rock krawler springs. Also these shocks have an internal hydraulic bump stop at the top, along with a spring for preventing damage at extreme droop. These eyelets are 2” taller than normal. Per shock-sperts like @CrazyCooter, the 1” extra eyelet works well on 3” lifts. I’ll probably be adding at least 1” to my bump pucks, but not because I’m worried about the shocks as much as the now top-mounted drag link.
Ok, i am just old school and believe in trust but verify.

Agreed. Thanks very much. I have 1” eyelets on hand in case I’m not happy with articulation tests. But the previous eyelets were preventing droop. SDI thought I should start with 2” at this new height. When I first installed them I was probably around 2-2.5 effectively.

First really nice day up here in Wisco that I had off so you know I had to get my hoist up and running and get those doors off

Measuring is good in the shop, but always twist up and verify potential clearance issues before hitting the trail!

You have a lot of added in variables!

Lots. No question. I appreciate people noticing things I don’t.

It would be a damn shame to ruin those fine shocks, because the shock turned into the bump stop on a hard hit.
I’m not sure it would be very easy with the internal bump stops, but anything is possible. :)

Do your shocks also still have the poly foam bumps installed on the shaft? You have so many stacked "Bump devices"! 😀

Added a bumper, winch, aluminum skid plate today. I should have bought new fog lights and wiring harness because taking them out of the factory bumper is not fun. That takes most of the time. I got a rugged ridge rear bumper to put on tomorrow.

They are still there. I agree. I won’t argue the complex things like shock tuning. I don’t have the vocabulary yet. But from a strength and redundancy standpoint, they seem to build these to survive after abuse. I killed my simple smoothies, and was less hard on them. These just hold up to all my bad decisions thus far.

Both sides mounted and torqued. Still lots to measure and figure out, but at least I know the springs won’t fall out at full droop. :)

The real question here is do you ever sleep? The amount of work you do on your truck would take me and probably some others months to accomplish. Looking good.

It is taking me months. :) it hasn’t moved since 4/19. Most of that was waiting for parts.
