Drove the Jeep today to work without the 200 lbs of shit hanging off the front and it was so weird. Very touchy.

Just dug through everything to gather all the original parts to see if I could list my original bumper + winch plate + hoop + fairlead could sell for anything. Pretty pricey setup though for what is essentially just factory.

Prepped the ARB front bumper...

But the one set of original parts I CAN NOT find are the frame reinforcement brackets that go to the inside of the frame at the horns... And I've seen some people say they didn't get included with the steel bumper equipped jeeps and others say they did. The installation instructions for the winch plate I installed say to remove them. The installation instructions for the new bumper I have say to keep them. I don't think it'll be detrimental if I install the bumper without them but I'm just so annoyed because I kept EVERYTHING and I can't find these brackets. Wish I could remember.

But anyway, if somebody in the MN/WI/IA region is looking for a built out mopar steel bumper...

Trimmed the frame tusks some more.

The top light/antenna tabs were interfering with the grill, a lot. I didn't want to space it forward and don't plan on using them anyway so I cut them off too.

Removed the thimble and spliced a loop into the line for the first time. Easier process than I expected.

Got everything mounted and wiring all routed again and done.

I installed the fire extinguisher. Guess you never know when you're gonna need it. Wondering how many other folks have one as well. And are there any good stories that they've actually had to use one . I thought this was the best place for it since I would be in a hurry to get to it if I needed it, rather than search inside the vehicle. I'll detach it when I'm not camping.

Probably good for a dragon to have a fire extinguisher.

I run Elements for space savings. Hope I never have to use em.
From the sound of that name Id say He need that rake to hold other assets & endowments.

Yep. I’ve got two elements on the Jeep, and one in each of the other cars. The traditional one got moved to the little tractor. I also hope I never need one…again. But that was at least a little funny.

I’ve needed one and not had it before. We passed a small brush fire along the side of the road. Flipped around to go put it out because SoCal can become a raging inferno in seconds. No fire extinguisher in the vehicle we were in. I’m pouring water bottles and of course my leg is busted at the time so no stomping on it like a camp fire. Luckily a couple other people stopped. 1 guy actually said “Just stomp it out” then looked at me on 2 crutches with my leg in a super boot and said “oh”.

Elements aren’t the best for that. Great for enclosed engine compartments or under fenders, etc. not designed for campfires. Great that you stopped. Fires are no joke in CO either. Not like your neck of the woods, but it’s not looking like a good season here. Lowest snowpack on record. I don’t think there’s even any left, and April is usually the biggest snow month.

As much as I hate seeing low snowpack, I'm low key glad this year because it means I likely wont be dealing with snow for our trip late May.

True but it’s going to be a tinderbox all over. We already have small ones popping off all over out here. My WatchDuty app goes off every day now. Nothing close yet.

I’ll only agree if our house doesn’t burn down. :)

Move to WV , we got all kinds of water and weather and rain. I like to refer to this place as the rain forest of the East .
Its rumored that in 1864 Jules Verne wrote This book which has been made into many movies after a visit to Western Virginia (WV )

Yeah.........and how you guys practice safe sex is to paint an "X" on the sheep that kick.

It's my duty as a citizen north of the Mason-Dixon line to make fun of the those who live just south of the line. At the power plant, we had a handful of yinz. There, everyone had a thick skin. LOL The shit was constant. 💩
