Not free here. Comprehensive deductible.
Not a big deal. $250 deductible for comprehensive, on purpose. On my 6th one I think. Went with 1000 for collision, to lower the premiums.

Was that just a regular windshield or a super duper detecting aliens in the atmosphere windshield?
Had the Gorilla glass. That was an extra $600 on top of my $500 if I would have gotten it. So I got the standard glass.

I’m guessing regular. Mine deflects radiation from Venus, and is over 1k for the part.
Hah, there I beat you .. paid 1135.00 mine they said it sends out signals to aliens on Andromeda star system. All I have to do is get close to Greenbank,WV and it links up. šŸ¤šŸ‘½šŸ‘½šŸ‘½

End of January I paid $760 for Gorilla Glass out of pocket, no insurance claim.

If you're in metro Phoenix, particularly the east valley, here is the place I used: Safepro Auto Glass Chandler

After 5 replacements on top of the original, I got the protection film.

How many layers is this film , can it peel off ?
I’m trying to remember the brand. Took me a second. Exoshield. They have two thicknesses. I got the thicker stuff. It does come off. I’m assuming about as easily as tint. The installer said it usually lasts about 5 years. I’ve had some pretty good hits with it and it just leaves tiny dimples. You can see them if you look closely. But I’ll take that over 5 more replacements in 5 more years.

Glad I have full glass. Over the past 5 years we've had 4 replacements on the BMWs and haven't paid a dime. They are $1k+ for the glass alone.

Much like the Gladi, the BMWs windshields are really easy to crack.

We used to have a glass rider. They discontinued it. I wonder why. šŸ˜‚

I didn't do it TODAY, but a couple days ago, I accidentally left 24 rolls of scented toilet paper in my Mojave. Today, the smell completely overwhelms my little tree air freshener, and my Glady smells like my bathroom. This was not my idea of a good modification.

Cut the extrusions for my goose gear clone. All thats left is drilling the mounting holes in the main panels for the extrustions and cutting out the hatch openings. Man I wish I had a CNC Router.. doing this manually really sucks LOL.

Heres the 40% so far.

So when you get a ding I it . Or it starts getting messed up , can you peel off the upper layer leaving a lower layer in place giving a nice crisp clear look again leaving a couple layers of protection still in place ?

If you can, I didn’t know that. I wasn’t smart enough to think about that. My impression is that it’s a cell phone screen protector for cars.

Some of those window protection film thingys, say they provide 3 layers.
Run it for awhile until it starts getting messy, then peal a layer off and be fresh again. Then do it again down the road. Next time you peal it, you'd be to a bare window amd need to get another set and start over.
