I had added RIPP coils about 4,000 miles ago and had cylinder 2’s pack go bad. So, I put the OEM coils back in. Way better! Bolt-on upgrades on performance, not always better.

Installed my new corner dash speakers -Infinity Reference REF307F. Huge improvement over the supposedly premium Alpine speakers in my Mojave. Really nicely balanced yet powerful sound for such small speakers and no added amp.

Nice. I’ve been contemplating doing something about the speakers too. Gotta say I was expecting better from the premium system. I honestly think the premium Alpine system in my 16 JK hits harder .

Agreed. I think a lot of premium oem systems these days are rip offs - my wife’s car has a “Meridian” premium system and it is worse than the Jeep’s. It has 14 speakers but I’ve had systems in the past with 6 speakers that were 10x better.

At this point I’m pleasantly surprised though how much better the entire system sounds just with this one change. Debating replacing the roll bar speakers next but will give it a little time.

Let's see - changing spark plugs on a Mustang (Cobra, can't recall, it was 70 or 71 maybe?) - disconnect battery and a few other wires, disconnect some hoses, disconnect engine mounts, lift engine as high as possible until bell housing hit the firewall/tunnel, now you can get to the spark plugs past the headers.
It was a half-day adventure and the boss laid it in my lap - I later saw why.

The only one slightly tough is behind the AC compressor, but still easily doable with the right extension and flex.

I don't even want to think about the plugs on my 3.6! I may trade it in the future just to avoid doing spark plugs on it. My heart and chest can't handle that type of leaning over and pressure any more. I found out from the gall bladder surgeon and another doctor that my cardiologist wasn't telling me the whole story - not the same story as they gave the surgeon.

Not exactly on my gladiator (yet), but started designing and building a parts list for my DIY Wedge camper. I have three young boys and want to make camping a regular thing but also want the ease of setting everything up as the solo adult. The goals are as lightweight as possible while still safe and not costing a fortune. I want this to be easily removed and installed. Following the completion, the goal is to make a slide in interior.

So, let’s see how this goes!

I couldn’t agree more! The first time I did this, it took me several hours as I was fearful of missing something (slow is smooth and smooth is fast? Haha). This time it took me 2 hours to completion. I did tape all connectors with painters tape to give me a clue, otherwise it all seems to blend in at times.

I was just talking with a guy about how we miss the days of an open engine bay and a handful of wires.

The best factory sound system I’ve ever heard is in my wife’s LX570 19-speaker, 450-watt Mark Levinson. Unreal.

I saw a tip from a mechanic on a Jeep you take off the front tires and put the axle on jack stands as low as it can go . I never thought about that. You can reach things a lot easier.

I have honestly thought about this as well.... Not necessarily due to the 'difficulty' but the cost from the dealer. it is supposed to be 100% covered under my pre-paid service plan, but we'll see. Who knows if I even have it long enough to rack up 100K. Depends on a few things the next couple years, and the reliability and the quality of service. I noticed yesterday I am more than a quart low on the oil change they did on Thursday. Going to have a meeting with the manager and general manager about it. I'm pretty not happy with the quality of service thus far and can only imagine the headache and problems with doing more invasive surgery.

Yeah but then I think about how the entire PDC and battery box has to be removed just to replace the valve cover gasket that is leaking on the passenger side. What a mess. Thats a 10 hour job - for a valve cover gasket.... and a LOT of things can go wrong with pulling the entire PDC - especially given the current trend of repair quality by my local dealer.
