I used the SSV Works JJT-SA065 speaker adapter from Crutchfield. This is the one that requires cutting as it sits more flush and doesn't stick down as low as the Select increments JLJT-Pods also at Crutchfield which may or may not require any cutting depending on the speakers you choose.
The two factory speakers in the sound bar have two different type of connectors so I used wiring harness 72-7902 and 72-6514 for the new speakers. Plug N Play with no cutting. The speakers I used are the JBL GTO609C. These got good reviews plus I didn't want to break the bank on a new set. You can get any speaker of your choice that are 6.5" or 6.75" to fit in the opening. You can get coaxial if you don't want to cut a hole for the tweeters of get component like mine. I used a hole saw bit to cut the opening for the tweeter. I believe the size was a 1.5". I was a little concerned about cutting the hole and getting it in the right place but the speaker adapter had a place prepared on the back side for drilling the hole, perfect placement. I just placed it on a 2X4 face down and drilled away. Quick and easy. I did have to use a half round file to open the hole slightly for the tweeter to fit. As far as cutting out the factory plastic to open things up, just mark the area with the mounting plate and use a utility knife with a new blade. I just placed the point of the blade on the line I drew and pushed it up until it went through. Then moved slightly in one direction and pushed through again. Continued to do this until it was done. I did NOT try to trace the line over and over. Pushing through worked well. If you have any questions just let me know.

BTW see you're in NH/ME. Love the area. Have been many times skiing there. Mt. Cranmore, Wildcat, Attitash/Bears Peak, Bretton Woods, Cannon, Waterville Valley and Loon. Was sorry to hear that the Old Man of the Mountain fell off. Stopped and took pictures a couple of times of it while traveling back and forth. Also went snowmobiling in Bartlett on Super Bowl Sunday one year. Many great memories from that area.
Great write-up! Seems pretty straight forward, no surprises with this info!

all those areas are great skiing, and hiking the rest of the year! You don’t mention spring skiing on mt Washington - even if you don’t ski it, it’s a great outing to just hike up and watch.

Unfortunately I have only gone in February. I would love to go during other times of the year and would especially love going to the top of Mount Washington. Spring skiing Mt Washington sounds phenomenal. Hopefully some day.

It was time for new tires, so I picked up the Nitto Recon Grappler in 37x11.50R17.

Also added Daystar 3/4 front spring spacers to remove some rake from the AEV springs, and give the new tires a bit more breathing room.

Hmmm? Sorry I don’t have any high end upgrades on the Mojave( kinda like it the way it is)but spent a few hours with a coworker fabricating a door hanger system for the old guys who can’t lift them up high anymore. Pull off your car and install the LF door with the RR and then eventually it’ll be the RF with the LR on a hanger system at waist height. As a younger Jeep owner I used to hang all four doors on one system (fabricated) one hanger lower than waist height and then above that . Tooooo old and out of shape now to do that! All about easy does it!!!!!Thats all nothing real special at all. No T 2000 supper spacer lift support systems or K5 Ultimatum tractactional tires. Just some cutting of some steel and welding with a couple rubber bushings. I know there are many different kinds out there but is there one like this…….Lol ?

Well done. Much better than many mods I've seen in the past. Love it when people think outside the box and come up with solutions themselves, Wish I had that type of insight and ability to create things like that.

Eh don't worry about the rain when you work from home and have a garage :) I also got a cab cover because the Corvette isn't staying outside all the time

Retired . . . "Money for nuthin . . ."
Started winter prep on my 2024 Gladiator. I know it's a ways off, but MN is a heavy salt state!

Step 1: Installed Westin HDX Xtreme Nerf Side Step Bars for both a step (my seat bolster also thanks me) and some road spray protection.

Step 2: Ordered RokBlokz flaps to help with the spray.

Step 3: TBD. Will be DIY treating with Woolwax in the next month or two.

Good for you. Unfortunately I have to drive in every day for work and mine sits outside because the Harley is taking up my side of the garage. Hope to take mine off some day for a day of fun.
