Yesterday I installed a couple of purchases that I made at the GSMJI. I snagged a set of the rear Rugged Ridge Fortis tube doors at a fantastic price. I had previously bought a front set on FB marketplace so I now have the full set for only $450 total.

I also got a set of the Combat Offroad billet hood latches for about $50 off the normal price.

Added a couple amber spots to the front bumper. I Still have to add the Voswitch grab handle power switch but I couldn’t wait to see these in place even without power.
I spent most of my weekend doing other priorities including replacing a thermostat housing and water pump on my daughter’s Durango. That was educational. 😁

Those look slick. Nice to see something different every once in a while. I bet that was ā€œeducationalā€. Meaning I bet your grown daughter was educated with a few curse words she wasn’t familiar with. How bad was it? Anything like that just makes me think gallons of coolant on the driveway. I’ve got very little cooling system experience, so don’t know how to drain it without a mess.

My daughter is 42 years old and an Army vet. She's heard and said plenty. :CWL:

It was really easy once I figured it out. The Durango has a spoiler/splash guard under the front of the engine compartment with openings on the outside back corners. You just have to put the drain pan under the opening on the drain cock side and open it up. The coolant flows right down into the drain pan.

She's had the leak for a short while and had some overheating. I did all the pressure testing to make sure there was no engine block or head gasket problems before replacing the thermostat housing and then the water pump when I found it was leaking too. Her boyfriend is a bailing wire and duct tape kind of guy and she didn't have the money to get it fixed so I did it for her.

The best educational part is that her Durango has the 3.6L engine like my Gladiator except that everything is opposite, i.e., the air cleaner is on the right instead of the left and the vacuum cover is on the left instead of the right. I'm learning quite a bit about the Pentastar by working on hers.

I love learning about this stuff. It always seems to come in handy.

I wanted those specifically for desert night runs which we do a lot in the winter. My first thought was an amber light bar in the center but with the low profile bull bar I couldn't find anything that would fit. The next option was the outer bolt holes on the top of the bumper but it took a while to find something I liked. These are good and bright and I like the larger size spot better than the small pods. They were also on sale so I jumped on them and saved about $75 with discounts.
I'm still trying to figure out something for the back that will be out of the way but haven't been able to figure something out short of a light bar and mount on the back of the cab but I don't really want the light bar mounting bracket getting in the way of the bed.

I threw on some Synergy Mfg wheel spacers to stop the little bit of rubbing I was having.
I also replaced the shitty factory 2 piece lug nuts with some nice single piece lug nuts.
Conspiracy time: two piece lug nuts are a scam by big lug nut to make you buy more lug nuts.

I have aux lights in the rear bumper, and they’ve been pretty good, but I’m tempted to get something mounted higher and pointed down. The bumper lights get in peoples eyes.

Picked her from the Dr. Of Suspension my local Jeep Slop Shop. Because I’m getting too old to replace the suspension anymore last time I got tennis elbow lol. He installed AEV 3ā€HD springs and new gears āš™ 4.88 towing will be a little bit better. It does look like i missed leg day got her booty up in the air like a blood hound. 😁 it should settle down some.

I have been debating getting the springs as well. What size tire are you currently running? And what shocks do you have paired with them?
I have KM3 35/12.5/17 E rated and I was already running Fox 2.5 Elite adjustable shocks for 1.5ā€ lift so i added teraflex shock extensions 1.5ā€ it rides way better than i would have expected being HD . I haven’t even made an adjustment on the shocks after installing the springs.
Thanks
