Greased and installed the rebuilt RCV on passenger side. And installed the hub/unit bearing. Really nice to see lug bolts again. Made me smile.

Edit: I also installed the rebuilt bump stops earlier today.

It never ends.
Pretty much. If you own a vehicle and expect not to find an issue while working on it then you might want to get a bicycle instead. 🫠

Side note got some test from Blackstone to do on my 2002 Volvo. Will be curious to see those results and what life it has left. Thinking the transmission might be calling it quits.

I had a 2000 C70 way back when. I loved that 5 cylinder turbo, but the rest of the car got expensive to maintain. I was too young and poor to own that car. Bought it used.

That I5 is legendary. I've had some potential ECU issues the past few years but when that thing is on it with the turbo it will blow away just about anything going up Vail Pass.

Agree parts can get outrageous if you get then direct from Volvo. Now days there is enough OE access that it's much cheaper. (Working on them is a different story.) I've been playing it by ear since it's cheap to insure and register. Hard to give up your first vehicle but will probably happen one day.

I loved that thing. I didn’t love the o2 sensor or spark plug replacements. I ultimately dumped it when the convertible top would have cost 3k to fix.

Since i can't find a rack that's low profile enough to clear my garage. Ended up built one instead with all US made 6061 aluminum.

Update: Made 4 support brackets for the roof tracks and temporary installed to see how it looks. I'm a sucker for polished aluminum stuffs, but I'm gonna have to go with black on this one ☹

Going to install my Fox ATS steering stabilizer this weekend.

Wrapped the body and reservoir with 3M clear vinyl to protect them from FOD.

Installed the Apex clamp on the stabilizer.

Have another project for this weekend.

Already have a HiLift jack mounted in the bed. Decided to mount my shovel the same way, using the same HiLift mounts. Had to remove the stud and drill and tap 2 new holes in each one.

Got started on getting the half doors on since I got them back from the powder coater this week. Still need to do some work getting the gaps lined up, but they look so good.

Ever have one of those project days turn into a project week with 1 really stupid little thing? I had multiple Jeep maintenance projects lined up on my day off today, and realized I lost the wheel lock key somewhere last project. To top it off, it's a 3-day holiday weekend, and the replacement key is coming USPS. Doesn't matter if it's next day, or 3-day, it ain't showing until middle or end of next week. 🤬

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds".... unless it's a government holiday.

I’m super impressed. I’m happy with myself if I can make a bracket, out of another bracket.
