Got tires, rims, lift. Thinking on different shocks, diesel catch can, engine/transfer case skid plate, winch bumper, winch. The winch and bumper may be my Christmas present.

I'd vote for the winch first.
I've always tried to get a winch right away on anything that goes exploring. I also tend to go out exploring with just my rig. Sometimes with passengers, sometimes without.
Being self sufficient is kinda important when your the only one in the woods.

I’d put that engine/tranny skid on equal ground with a winch. No one wants a punctured oil pan out in the woods or desert alone either.

Definitely something to consider. Around here the odds of puncturing an oil pan are pretty slim. No real rock crawling close by, unless I head 3+ hours away.
I spend most of my time exploring old forest roads and playing in the snow.
Each area has it's own dangers and plans need to suit the environment your in.

Same here - I can easily clear pretty much anything I'd come across. The biggest issue is snow, ice, and hitting the ditch, OR, pulling OTHER people out of trouble.

I had some left over matte black vinyl wrap left over so I added stripes to the side of the JT. Here is round #1:

IMHO, being able to self recover is more important that the skids. I installed almost everything before I installed the skids last week.

the only trail I ran in my 2014 JK that required skids was the Rubicon trail…

AEV Dualsport RT with HD springs installed. I love the height, the Mrs might need a step stool. Took about 12 hours total, would have been faster had I known to drop the track bars right from the start to allow more axle drop. AEV claims you don't need adjustable track bars, but I'm about 3/4 inch to the drivers side so I'll be ordering some soon. They also claim the diesel doesn't need the passenger side spring spacer, but it's about 1/4" lower on t he passenger side even with a full fuel tank. I figure I'll let everything settle and check again, and if I still have a difference I'll put the spacer in when I do the track bars.

Also installed Wolfbox G930 mirror. I was able to get it to fit without interfering with the visors by taking a file to the ball socket arm and clocking the arm a little towards the passenger side. Much better fitment than the massive G900.

Also also installed a switched power fuse panel in the drivers footwell for any accessories that need switched power. It's connected directly to the battery through a continuous duty relay and triggered by fuse 57 (or whatever the heated seats fuse is).

And lastly, while I was removing the wheels I noticed a slight dip then bump in the sidewall of one of them (hard to see in the photo). Unsure if it's just weird from the side lugs or if the sidewall has a defect. Sent image to my tire guy. It's almost time for 37's anyways.

Agree on the front adjustable track bar with the AEV dual sport lift. I also added terriflex 1 inch spacers in the front to level the front with the winch and steel bumper.

Yeah curious if I'll need front spacers after I mount the winch. I dont think so, especially after I add the tent and everything, I suspect it will be fairly level.

That dip is common in a lot of tires. That is where the belts over lap.
