So I came home to a new Sunrider sitting in the driveway. Was very excited. Put it together, took the old one off and put the new one on. OMG it is worse than the old one. Same issue. The material is so tight on the drivers side that when putting the top flat that it pulls even more and it sits up even higher in the back than the old one. Harder to latch down as well. Took it off and put the old one back on.
Bad luck here, too. Swapped tops, yikes, swapped back. The experimental one was a horrible fit. Couldn't easily clamp the front, and when the bolts were snugged up, you couldn't clamp or unclamp the front clamps and the front stuck way up high.

Wow. I was hoping we would both get our issues resolved. Sorry to hear about that. Yours is much worse of an issue than mine. Almost makes me feel my truck is a bit off as well. I already sent them an email.

Finished giving her a nose job. (New bumper, skid plate and fairlead).

PSA: I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but the mounting holes on the bottom of at least my Zeon 10-S are not 10 inches on center. The new winch mounting plate had round holes drilled precisely 10 inches on center, but when I was test fitting everything before taking it in to be powder coated, the winch mounting bolts had no chance of lining up. Oddly enough, the old Mopar mounting plate has oval slots instead of round holes.

I’ve been through that. It’s the winch. It’s a little splayed out. I had a Zeon platinum 12s that they replaced. The second one was perfect and hasn’t been an issue with three installs. Check the reveals where the spool goes into the two sides of the winch and take pictures. If it doesn’t look right, it’s an assembly issue. I’m guessing one bad batch that didn’t get caught by QC

Pressed the knuckle end joint out of my new teraflex drag link. It’s symmetrical per teraflex, so I pressed it back in from the bottom, so I can install it as a top mount. They don’t sell it as a top mount, but I have their blessing to do so. I wanted their clamp style, so was fine making this change. I got a taper sleeve from apex chassis to handle the taper. Not installing tonight as I need to drive it in the morning to get its EXOshield installed.

Yes. My current top steer drag link is a no drill setup from steersmarts. They handle it with a special sleeve that goes into the bottom. But this will take a 7/8ā€ straight hole. The apex taper sleeve is split so it compresses as it’s tapped into the drill hole. If it needs to be switched back to bottom mount, the sleeve can be tapped out and put into the bottom.

So it is going to be trial and error to see if it improves handling ?

After running the Sylvania Silverstar Ultras for 2yrs 8mo the driver side burnt out. I ended up getting these to relpace both sides with.

Here is the new vs old. DS is new (Gold), PS is old (Ultra). Low beams.

Here is high beams.

My phone camera isn't the best at showing the difference, but it's there. Getting some white wash from the cargo trailer that is parked just to the left of the picture.

Here is the OE on DS and Ultra on PS, high beams. More of a noticeable change last time around.

Figured it would be faster and easier to grind the holes in the mounting plate into an oval shape than try to get Warn to replace a used 2 year old winch that as far as I can tell works fine. The distance between the two sides of the winch is set by that top piece. I haven't messed with those bolts that bolt the top piece to the sides.

Then the rain comes in .
Sometimes it does. Lol. My JL“s doors are off from early May to sometime in September, every year. No matter how hard you try to avoid it, rain happens. My drain plugs have had a workout. Amazingly, the electronics in these things can take it. The screen goes wonky but when everything dries out, it works as it is supposed to.

I’m not worried about that. It’s already setup with a top mount. I just killed the joint on the current link, on the pitman end. Squeak squeak and lots of play. So with all the drag links to choose from, there aren’t many strong ones that aren’t jam nut style. And I really like the two piece design instead of three, along with their super low profile clamp.
