Same. I use the heated seat year round, for my old ass.
I only use the heated seat when it's below 30 which was this morning at 16 and snow .. we had a high of 18 today and before I even got back home it was 16 . Heated steering wheel is my favorite . Tell ya what heated grips on a motorcycle are life savers. A few years ago I did 585miles straight and most of it in 45 and 50 degree weather they are amazing. The heated wheel in the Jeep cycles the ones on the bike just stay constant..

I honestly forgot I had a heated steering wheel until the last road trip up to Colorado, when it kicked on automatically on a cold morning. Don't use it at all in South Texas, although I do use the heated seats from time to time to soothe an aching back.
Heated steering wheel is awesome on the Gladiator. Since I live on the surface of the sun, I wish it would somehow freeze when I remote start it in the summer.

Today I took it in for it's first oil change. Well, first for ME. When I bought it in November, the dealer (non-Jeep) told me they changed the oil. I posted previously about how I do not trust used car dealerships, even company branded ones, not only private.

I have the Mopar Care package, I've had it with my past two Jeeps, a 2005 Liberty Renegade (wife's Jeep) and a 2017 Renegade (unfortunately, mine....traded in for the Gladiator).

When the tech was finished, he brought it around and saw me sitting outside drinking a cup of coffee and vaping. He walked up, all smiles, and asked, "This your Gladiator ?" I said yes. He said he "played a little game with it in the back.". Concerned, I asked, "Whatchoo talking 'bout, Willis ?". He was like 20-21 years old, he had NO idea what I was referencing because he repeated his name. (Some here may not, either).

He said while he had the hood up, he was asking everyone to guess what mileage it had. There was guesses of 5,000 miles, 15,000 miles "first oil change", etc.. He said when he told him it was a 2023 and had 42,000 miles on it, they were shocked. He said, "This is the cleanest engine I've EVER worked on on a Jeep with this many miles !!". I said, "I recently retired, I spent like 3 hours cleaning everything.". He said it looks brand new. I said that was my intention. I told him I even repainted the faded symbol on the windshield washer cap with a black fat Sharpie. He said, "No way !!" and re-popped my hood. "Looks brand new factory !!". While he had the hood up, I asked, "Did you drip oil anywhere ?" Proudly he goes, "No sir !! Take a look. It's still fresh !!". I guess "fresh" is a nowadays term for "clean", I don't know.

Truth be told; that's the way I am. I'm one of those guys that if I go to the range, it doesn't matter if I fire 2 rounds or 200, when I get home I break it down and clean it. Same with my vehicles; keep 'em clean. Some people swear by dirty weapons and dirty vehicles "they run better" and all that. Nah. Clean is better. You get to stay ahead of things. Get them dirty, then go clean them. Illogical to leave them dirty.

When I wash my Jeep(s), I give the engine a going-over. If you stay on top of it, it's easy. Added bonus, you can detect any leaks or cracks before they get out of hand or you see puddles in your driveway.

Not gonna lie, I haven't cleaned under the hood of my Gladiator the entire time I've owned it (a little over three years, 36K miles). The truck as a whole is lucky to get washed every three months sometimes. The interior more often, since I spend time in there 😄

When the weather warms, I'm seriously considering climbing underneath and give it a bath and look at everything. The local car wash does an "undercarriage treatment" as part of their cleaning packages, I may give it a go and then climb under to see what's what..

This, I do (well not the bath part) but everything I own does get thoroughly looked over top and bottom, even if it's not clean when it happens 😄

Same. I have found maintenance issues while at the diy car wash doing the axles and suspension.

To be fair, I don't wheel much, and there is very little mud here in the urban sprawl of the greater BR/New Orleans area (and no snow muck) so it's not like I have to clean away pounds of ick to find a problem.

It's pretty much lay on the ground and look up and go 'Yep, that's effed'.

When it comes to rifles and pistols you're spot on, but once you move into automatics, you blow em out, oil her up, wipe the excess off, and run a single patch down the barrel. More than that and your baby gonna be very cranky till she's dirty again!

I won't speak of weapons (forbidden in the forum title), I only spoke of same as a comparative example, not a topic tangent...

Back in my mudding days, my Jeeps would be covered in muck. I learned real fast how beneficial a local car wash was. The kind where you drop the quarters and squirt everything yourself, not the nice ones where you sit inside and watch through a window as it get dragged through the wash then a couple employees wipe it dry and apply treatments.

At the coin wash, I got to leave all the clumps of mud, grass and whatnot there instead of in my driveway. Rude ? Yeah kinda, but I certainly did it, not gonna lie.... If I had time left on the meter, I'd try to direct the clumps to the drain.

I mostly meant stuff like that as well. I once sprayed the axle from the front and the steering stabilizer bolt had pulled out of the tie rod bracket. Oops.

And you’ll be fine. I’m just a crazy person. But I don’t have an under Jeep sprinkler. So there might be hope for me.

I stopped by NTB yesterday to see about getting those same tires; they'll sell me a set of four K03's for the price of K02's. He asked if I want the RWL inside or out, I said, "I'm old skool, let's go RWL out !!". He smiled and asked what I was driving, I pointed out the window. A younger worker was there and goes, "Yeah....letters out, for sure.".
