How did you splice them into the cargo lights ? Did you find a place to tap in or did you snip the wire ? I'm really against snipping any OEM wiring harness....
Disclosure: I'm old and forgetful. With that being said, If memory serves me, I believe I tapped into the wiring at the rear of the truck bed where the wiring goes up for the bed lights on the passenger side.

My way of of doing any way of splicing any wire is.. you cut into the outside exterior wrap. then you separate the wire the wire and create a space, then you stick the wire through and wrap the wire around the existing wire, then I use heat to seal the connection. And.. then I wrap with electoral tape..

My $.02... same thing about 2 years ago... Entry/Courtesy lights – mounted with Rubber Coated Magnets – no holes drilled. I live near the beach, lots of salty air and winter road salt. Holding up fine.

You can get these on sale much cheaper if your not in a rush. I think I paid $16

installed a 4x6" patch of PU leather next to the gas pedal on the tranny tunnel to prevent wear on the carpet from my shoe. Peals off easily too.
That’s really taking care of your rig.

Made myself totally sick for a few hours............ tried to run a wiring harness into the bed to supply power for my trailer winch and got so far and had to quit. Can't lay on a creeper working under things any more.
I did get the panel in and the wiring started, but this is as far as I got before I had to stop. At this rate working minutes at a time or when I don't care if I get a headache and dizzy - it will take days just to run the harness to the engine bay!

I also ran another wire in the bundle to hook an aux switch to the bumper mounted Oracle backup lights so I can run them any time I want for light at the rear. That's the reason the tail light is out..

This panel came from a forum member who prints them.

I'll likely run from here over to the left side and put a 12v outlet there to power things like a cooler and so on. I'll use the plastic panel they started putting on the left side of the bed in 24 model year for that.

Gotta run this up along the top of the frame and strap it to existing wiring, and up into the engine bay to connect to a breaker for the heavy wiring for the trailer winch, and the other to the terminal strip for the aux switches.

You can just see the diode in there - I'll connect the aux switch wire to the other terminal on that. The backup lights are already running through it to power the extra backup lights
Times catching up with all of us. I've got a dozen things to do to mine. Fluid changes, relocating "house battery" and solar system to bed due to new passenger in my JT. Along with taking to body shop to fix hail damage ect ect. Also I'll likely change the 12v power from vehicle battery out of bed to trigger HD Anderson connector at receiver hitch area. 20 ft of wiring to remove and re-do. On top of a battery box with cover and tie downs. Gotta figure out location for it yet. Fridge and water tank on one side. If water tank was different shape.

I am 6 foot 1 310lbs 2 were over 6ft 3 and the other 2 were 6ft even all of us were over 325lb at the time literally had to slam the back door shut for the 3 in the back seat to fit. We would laugh and say if we got hit the car would just pop back out to shape because of the pressure. Occasionally we would throw someone in the hatch too. Grew up in central Illinois. All corn feed boys
Yeah I didn't have the hight until last of teen year or so but was in sz 10.5 EW footwear, 213 5'6" at 17-18. I guess there was something in that IL. soil or water. 🤔 Family got the shock from not seeing me really for 4 years the 6'2" 197-203 came home on leave. Maybe the Army was feeding us HGH back then. :giggle:

If my concrete floor would handle a 2 post lift, that's how I'd go to save space, but I'm afraid it won't.
Nice setup.
At least a 4 post will work, a few places have problems lifting my JT or Wrangler on 2 post lift. Skid plates and vehicle center of gravity.

Heard there is a highway in Egypt called the Highway of Death. It's them driving at night with their headlights off at over 100 mph. A lot of head on crashes because of it. They do it so they won't get stopped by bandits.
Seems like a few countries in middle east then. Chased down several Chevy Impala's full of guys and AK's occasional a RPG or so. ;)

I looked at my Gladiator today. Was planning on a full wash and wax but 30-50mph winds decided it needed to stay dirty. Don’t really enjoy driving in this kind of wind either so nah. On the positive side my solar panels stayed where they were supposed to so I did something right I guess.

The things I've seen on the highways over there is insane. Camels standing up in the back of sedans with the roofs cut off, getting your doors blown off by people doing 100+mph, pickups riding on bump stops with 20 armed dudes in the back (some of them kids)...

Like this photo I took... What you don't see is how the truck is hooked on the power line above it, and thats whats keeping it upright.

Gears done. Truss burned on.
Front pattern was really difficult to get acceptable. Rear ran an almost perfect pattern with the factory shims.

I've got more work to do before I throw them back under the jeep.

I had a old D-44 that getting a good pattern was a PTA. Old castings and machining with a 60 plus year old design.

Yeah I've seen things over there that truly makes me think WTF. Along with some of the worst crashes, of which several incidents that had military involved. Had to secure a crash scene for several days waiting for C.I.D. to get off assessment to do their investigation D.B. had to be left in place to not contaminate the crime scene. Ended up being a wash on it. Bag-n-tag bodies after setting out in sun for days. I definitely didn't have clearance or want it for what led up to that one. To put part of it in perspective with the cash there I could have bought several topped up JT's with cash, had gas money, maintenance and modification for years or just disappeared.

Love the 'manche pic in the profile. This was mine I sold to my friend to make room for my Gladiator back in '21

I miss it but it's nice seeing it when I visit my home state

I just ordered some @NXTGENAutomotive steps for my Gladiator. I technically only needed a single step for my daughter to get in easy so naturally I ordered two sets so it would be even and look nice.

I also installed a better med kit from MyMedic. It has rip away velcro backing with MOLLE so I attached it to the back of my seat.

About two weeks ago I finally installed my Desert Does It seat jackers with the MOLLE panel. I mounted the Jeep/Energizer flashlight to the panel along with a multi-tool and knife in a High Speed Gear double TACO pouch. The seat jackers are nice. It was weird at first but it is definitely more comfortable to sit in my Jeep. I had to move the seat forward a little bit and adjust the recline of the back after installing them. I went on a 6-hour round trip and my legs never got tired. Granted, I never had a problem before with the seats in my Mojave.

Oh, and the 6-hour trip was to pick up an LOD bumper off of BA Baracus on this board. Can't wait to get it installed with my winch.

Details and pictures later - but the bundle of wires wildhobo helped run along the frame into the engine bay is all terminated and tested out.
I can trigger the winch solenoid (aux 3) to provide power to the rear anderson connectors.
aux 4 and I have live bumper backup lights without being in reverse or running
Aux 2 and I have power to the USB charging ports in the bed and eventually for a 12v outlet in the bed as well.

I had to make a bracket to raise the 50 amp breaker up and out of the way and those 8 gauge wires take a lot of space and don't flex a lot once the protection is on the wires.

PXL_20260216_215428765.webp

the wire here coming from the right to the breaker comes from the winch side of the disconnect solenoid. so powering the solenoid powers the winch in front, and the Anderson connector in the bed that will power my trailer winch.

PXL_20260216_215437857.webp
Just catching up with this thread. This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately. I really want to run DC power to my bed so I can run an air compressor back there and some other small things. I was thinking of using one of my aux switches with a relay and doing something similar to this. Thanks for sharing and validating what I was thinking!
