Took it to a diy car wash to clean it up reasonably well before starting to put it all back together. Did the engine compartment for the very first time in 85k miles. I’ve always been nervous about getting water into electronics. Just used soap with no pressure, and then the low pressure spot free rinse. Drove it home without any codes, so hopefully I didn’t screw up. I know people do this all the time, and I’m in the minority, but certain things make my balls shrink.
I, too, can't bring myself to hosing down the engine bay. Sure, everything is supposed to be water resistant, I just can't hose it down.

So I go about it the most tortuous way; Simple Green, shop rags, toothbrushes, compressed air and USGI Q-Tips (they have about a 6" wooden stick on them, made for weapons maintenance). It takes hours. Hours. According to my (nosy) neighbor, he once said while leaving, "You've been at that for over 3 hours now !!". But I know I'm not oversoaking anything.
I'm more worried about cracking the block from not being cooled enough. 😂

I've finally gotten over it over the years. If my 2002 Volvo can take it (in the dry Colorado air mind you), then my water fording Jeep should be just fine. It's just getting past that initial hesitation...

Can't have one, manual, so the clutch pedal takes up that space.
Funny, I've been driving my Wrangler several days then hopped in Gladiator and "trying to shift" it. :giggle:

Well, I'm only 5'6". Well, I was the last time I had my height checked a couple decades ago...and I damn sure haven't gotten taller, I promise you this.

Hiking that leg is a non-issue for us vertically challenged owners.
Funny when I joined the Army I was only 5'6" at 18 I grew to 6'2" came home after being gone for 4 years. Family was WTF. Must have been the vitamins and supplements. . . Heck we were probably getting HGH in the DFAC food or just the German food and booze.

I've hosed down the engine compartment on all of my Jeeps never had a problem from it but when it was cool not hot.

Picked up a badflag.com flag and played with positioning of it today, thinking tailgate offers the better mounting for my set up -

Yep, the suction cups, pole, mounts for the flag and flag all came as a kit. Various flags available.
Thanks!! I’ve been thinking about something like this for on the bed cap. This should do the trick. I’m in Cali though, so wonder which one I should pick?

Still need to get mine on. Looks good! Steel or plastic rear bumper?
Super easy install, however, the top bolts for each bracket only give you space for about a 1/4 turn at a time so have some good tunes to listen to 😆

Steel rear bumper, so no trimming required.

One of my power tools fit in there to zip them on and off. Don’t remember if it was the right angle impact or the right angle passthrough ratchet.

Figured out the exhaust situation though, since I didn't want a lot of pipe hanging below the frame out the rear. 3" to 4" resonated tip. Between the angle and the resonator I think it's a smidge less raspy and a little deeper. I mean, very very minor. It's only a tip after all. The angle it's pointing out at probably makes more of a difference in sound than anything. A bit more stealthy looking, won't see it unless you're looking for it.

Why are you cutting? New bumper?
Yeah, Artec comp cut rear bumper, HERE

I don't expect you to remember it but when you were here I told you about this bumper I was thinking about and you helped me with a little mini brainstorm session on how to handle the exhaust and it's essentially what I ended up doing. Took the whole T&S tail pipe off and added a long tip.
