Made it jealous while I did an oil change and tire rotation on my wife’s car.

In todays episode of Shit That Should Have Come This Way In The First Place.

These inner fender liners from American Misadventure Labs not only don’t fit correctly (nothing a grinder can’t fix) and their bracketry is simply wrong, they also rattle against the frame and body incessantly. I’ve added some metal reinforced edging to keep my sanity off road. Edge Trim Black Small, Fits Edge 1/16 to 1/8 Inch, Length 10 Feet (3.05 Meter) https://a.co/d/8xXxxtm

Strange I had no problem on my JTR, had to do no mods and have no rattles. Just followed the instructions.

That’s fantastic. I’m so happy for you. The brackets they sent me don’t fit the holes in the diesel frame. The panels are shaped poorly and bind in multiple places. Instructions really have zero to do with it. The drivers side required a relocation of the washer bottle. I knew that going in. Ironically it was the passenger side where nothing fit correctly.

A lot of people seem to love their fender chop LED brackets. Especially YouTubers who get them for free. A lot of people have had those LEDs fail. My impression is that the company’s products are a mixed bag.

True I do have a gasser. Did you try calling them? I found them to be very helpful and when I had found one of the Dzus bolts was defective they expressed me a couple out and had them the next day. Every manufacturer has their good and bad and it’s each to their own on how you spend your money. That’s why I always read the reviews and make informed decisions based on what I want the product to do and what to expect

I was told last weekend that mine wasn’t either. I took it all apart and the light works, but the connection is poor. It worked for a day and failed again. I’m going to replace the light and that short section of the harness.

I honestly don’t remember if I talked to them. Probably. But it was a long time ago and I was doing multiple installs that day. I just modified the bracket, or maybe the frame to make it work. Weirdly it was the passenger side that the bracket didn’t fit. Regardless the liners are properly placed. They really can’t fit but one way considering where their brackets go. The thing I’ve noticed is that these make contact with the frame and body and multiple places. When I say it rattles, it’s not when driving around town. It rattled like crazy when off road especially on wash boards. It’s just inherent in the design. One thing I don’t like is that it creates a rigid connection between the frame and body which is bound to make noise. Again, this is really an issue off road. But it’s really annoying on fire roads. It sounds like the truck is falling apart. In fact I kept thinking I had broken something or had a failing unjoint the first time I noticed it. So I made a bunch of relief cuts to prevent binding. That prevents popping. This edging closes the loop on noise and rust issues. I don’t hate these. They’re a pain to get on and off, but better than the OEM plastic liners and they look good I also have my inner fender liners in place which doesn’t contribute to the rubbing but it does make taking them on and off more difficult. I wish that they would have built in some rubberized standoffs rather than letting these rest against the body and frame.

A big issue with fitment is that a lot of manufacturers made parts that they claimed fit the diesel without checking to see if this was actually true. Both the diesel and the Mojave have different frames and a lot of parts don’t fit well. I’ve run into this repeatedly. Ironically AAL actually made a version of these that accounts for the washer bottle on the diesel but they made it clear that you could use the regular version if you relocated the bottle which I did

In the pics below for the most part the circles are places where they bind. The squares are rubbing.
