VHT is what I used. The Satin is a great color match to most of our frames parts. It does not require a primer and being an epoxy paint, holds up well. I painted my new gladiator this past weekend as my frame was horrible scatched all over. Was very dissapointed and even took it to my dealer. They played dumb like it was the first time ever seeing it, had them take pictures to document. Not sure if you had similar scrapes or scratch, but this is what my gladiator looked like (second day I owned it). Even my welds were missing paint.

Rustoleum rust reformer, then satin black of some kind. Ive used the VHT and Rustoleum both. I had the same messed up rubs to the bare metal in some places on the bottom of the frame. Either transport did it or factory using a forklift to haul the frames around to get to the assembly line Im guessing. I wasnt happy when I discovered it after getting a new vehicle home. Dealer played stupid, and I just fixed it myself. All the chassis paint around welds especially is piss poor. Ive had to use the wire brush all over the place, rust in most areas, took an afternoon to get it where I like it. Of course Im preachin to the choir....

After playing in the rocks this spring my wife and I just used a wire brush and some flat black rustoleum on the scraped up skid plates. It worked perfectly.
