I’m starting to piece together my lift. I’ve purchased the Clayton 2.5 Overland with HD rear springs. Curious what else I should add while it’s all torn apart. I’ve heard the Metalcloak end link reinforcement brackets are a good idea.

Definitely add any lca or lower shock skid plates that you want while you're adding the lift.

If you want to add/change your front jounce bumps to hydro, this would also be the right time.

Since you have a rubi, this doesn't apply to you, but adding swaybar disconnects makes sense while doing a lift.

If you want to do airbags in the rear, this is easier while you have the rear springs out.

If you want to add a steering/trackbar reinforcement bracket, that is easier with the front left spring out.

That is about all that I can think of that is easier with springs, control arms, and/or shocks out of the way.

Good luck!

Awesome! Great advice. I’m not in a rush to throw the lift on so I’m trying to gain knowledge, money and parts (in that order) so when I start the install to do it right the first time and be set for success.

The only thing I would have recommended you mentioned, the Metal Cloak reinforcement/repair bracket is a brilliant product.

Make sure you add a driveshaft carrier bearing spacer also!

I would definitely buy these Metalcloak Front Lower Spring pads, the stock ones get beat up quickly and are already broken in to the stock springs.

I also suggest these for the rear cools springs, the Clayton Springs sometimes squeak (my do).

And I recommend adding a Sector Shaft brace. I have the Steer Smarts one and like it, but after I bought mine Synergy updated theirs to a sealed bearing (like the steer smarts one) and also a through bolt (instead of 2 separate bolts). If I didn't already have mine on. i would buy the Synergy one ..

Past that there are a ton of things you can upgrade, but those are the things to do while it is apart putting the springs in...
Just my $0.02, can't even buy a cup of coffee with it ?

It is really beefy. I have the same one on my Mojave. The Synergy one is basically the same but now has a single through bolt holding the bearing brace part in, in theory that should be better.
I am a little anal, I paint everything with POR15 when it is apart, it is time consuming, but well worth it if you are going to keep your truck for awhile.. I did the same cleaning and painting on my Mojave.

While you have tires and wheels out of the way, check torque on every nut and bolt that you AREN'T changing out. You'll be surprised at how many are loose.
