What happens if I go from a rear bumper WITH sensors to one without?

Right now I have the rear parking sensors and the rear cross traffic alter on my Gladiator. I'm thinking of swapping to a steel rear bumper, and to be frank, I really don't care about those sensors. The camera is enough - I don't need all the annoying beeping.

If I just take the sensors out with the first bumper, and don't reinstall them in the new bumper, will the ECU freak out? Or will it just not make the obnoxious noise anymore? (That would be ideal.)

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a good RTFM smackdown as much as anyone, but p. 43 in my manual is Uconnect stuff. The safety section also only explains how the sensors work, not how to disable then or what happens if you remove them.

Was just having fun. I’m sure nothing happens. Just use a programmer or get a dealer to disable the feature. You’ll be fine. I happen to like the beep for people going too fast in blind parking lots, but I drove for decades without them and haven’t yet had an accident in that way.

Hah same, all good man. I am just hoping the dash isn't going to be throwing error codes at me or something if I take them out but the ECU expects to have input from them.

If the sensors are disconnected, there won't be anything for them to beep at, but maybe the graphics will change in the center dash to not have the distance gauge.

Well, for posterity if anyone else tries this, you get an error on ignition about ParkSense not available, and service being required.

I had an OBD plug to use with JScan ready, but apparently I need another security bypass plug, and I have to plug the OBD Bluetooth into THAT thing.

$45 to make a stupid error code go away. Ugh.

Still a good bit of kit to have for anything else later. I have messed around with my setup enough to be able to remove and connect the security gateway bypass adapter cable just by feel without having to take the knee bolster panel off.

So, I deactivated that (JScan, SGW bypass cable, and OBD bluetooth dongle), and I'm still getting this error when I start up. Is there something else I need to disable?

from the pattern I have noticed is that each feature has 2 setting, one to make show up in uconnect? and one to actually enable the feature to work.. But hey what in the hell do I know?!?!?!? I just touch wires tell something happens!
