Can’t a collision of the same sort happen on the driver side as well with its wheel and tire?
I would imagine they would have not ignored that and not reinforced it if needed.

Drivers left side is not just a mirror of the right passenger side. For one thing, the FAD is the weak part of the differential on the right side and more prone to break in a collision and become more kinetic. The drivers left side also has the main gear and pinion offset on that side with frame reinforcements for the steering box and other things. Totally different crush zone.

Don't worry they tend to self clearance when introduced to rocks

And yet if you watch the crash testing videos three drivers side offset impact results in the same tire stuffing and subsequent roll over as the passenger side? It's the offset test that the bracket was designed around and I've yet to see any proof that the bracket does anything as even the passenger side seems to still behave the same. Of course once you lift your jeep and put bigger tires on it the dynamics of those crash tests are meaningless anyway so I don't care either way.

Without us seeing the raw data, it is speculative of what we see and think on this. For all we know, they are checking a mathematical calculation check box to satisfy some requirements.

I just know they do not add a nickel of extra costs unless it is required.
