What is this part? JTRD ‘23

Hey all, I was installing my MOPAR trailer brake and came across this rats nest of wires stuffed in my left footwell and held in place by Velcro. It blinks, has power to it and looks aftermarket. I bought the vehicle new and recently had the recall completed so perhaps this is a piece of it but I can’t figure it out. Thanks for the help.

FCC ID says it is a GPS tracker. Probably dealer installed . It might have been installed as a loss prevention device or as an attempt to sell you the service.

I would pull it out.

I had the same thing when I bought my 2023 in October. Dealer didn't even mention it. A small sales brochure was included in my owners manual packet on how to subscribe and that was it. I pulled it as soon as I got home.

It’s just about the worst theft protection device I’ve seen. It literally took me 2 minutes to disconnect and it was so obvious plugged into the VAG port. Any thief with an IQ of 2 would know how to remove it in the same amount of time. I feel safer with an AirTag

LOL, I did not think so either until I tried to buy a Gladiator from Lake Norman and it was a ~$1000 add-on.

My Rubi had it in it when I bought it. It was listed on the sales sheet as a dealer add-on.
I asked what it was, they told me, I said take it out and take it off the sales sheet or no deal.
