My Gladiator did not come with the bed outlet, so I'm going to wire my own. Outlet will mainly run lower power appliances/tools. Main thing would be the Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville mixer for the wife when we go camping

What size inverter would fit the bill for this?

I think a 1000 Watt inverter is a good balance between general needs and size of the inverter.

If you plan on regularly plugging in consumer electronics like TV, radios and computer equipment, I would get the pure sine wave.

So, that's a negative. Thanks for the info. DeWalt it is.

If you plan on running wired leads to the bed, that DeWALT model I mentioned may not be a good candidate. It's meant to be used off the jacks on the inverter and not a remote wire setup.

Thought of that, but I only have 2 weeks to get something wired up before our next trip. Now thinking of using this DeWalt temporarily. Put it underseat and just use an extension cord. Can put this in wife's JKU as a backup when I get the JT done permanent.

Thinking now...

Keep in mind inverters draw a lot of power. Using them with the engine off can pull down the battery fast. Would be good to see what your use is in case you need a house battery

I put a 2kw RedArc inverter in my rig to run a 1500w Nespresso cappuccino machine. What can I say, I like (need) my cappuccino in the morning.

it works great!

If I don't get my afternoon Cappuccino I can turn into a mass murderer. I prefer taking my Honda EU2000i for things like that as I've measured some impressive 12V current draw on some big inverters and would rather not subject my battery to that much punishment.

It is at a much higher price point but you are not tied to the bed if you go with a Jackery and a couple solar panels. Margaritas anywhere! And you don’t have to worry about drawing down your battery.

I knew a guy that had a pull start gas operated blender. It was a little two stroke job and it worked great on his boat.
