Two month old Gladiator under 1500 miles. Rear ended at a stop light by an inattentive driver. Sigh. Body shops are all swamped and quoting 2-5 month backlogs. That’s MONTHS, not weeks. His insurance company has been great so far (they’ve provided a Tacoma rental), but even they can’t find any body shop opening earlier. Therefore, in order to get back on the road in my Gladiator, I’m shopping for aftermarket tail lights, but it seems they don’t include the sensors, and my sensor was scraped away in the accident. Any helpful suggestions (thanks in advance!)? Or should I stick with an OEM tail light (have you seen what they cost?) from Jeep for now, tape it in place and hope it doesn’t corrode or leak while I’m in the queue for a body shop?

You need to be careful about doing anything because it may be held against you by the insurance company. "from Jeep for now, tape it in place and hope it doesn’t corrode or leak while I’m in the queue for a body shop?" If this happens while in your care or if there is underlying damage and hooking up a new taillight or anything you do on your own causes further issues, the insurance company can deny the extra damage and you will be on the hook for it. My suggestion take the Toyota Tacoma. Leave the Gladiator in the care of the insurance company and repair shop and just keep checking in to make sure the repairs are done properly.

If you are insitent on driving your Gladiator, make the insurance company pay for the OEM Taillight and get it in writing that you can drive the vehicle while you wait for the repair shop opening.

Be careful and good luck.

Is your bed and or frame bent?
The bed appears to have compressed or shifted a slight amount - the insurance estimator and I can fit one more finger between the Cab and Bed on the driver side than on the damaged, passenger side at the top of the bed. At the bottom of the bed the gap between bed and cab is equal on each side. So the top, passenger side, of the bed has moved but perhaps not the bottom. The estimator said the body shop will check the frame, once someone accepts me in their queue. The impact was at a slow speed thankfully, so he thinks the frame will likely have survived OK. Thanks!

Unfortunately no two gladiator beds fit the same. I have looked at hundreds of gladiators and some of them have 1-2 inch variation per side for bet fitment.
