Trying to decide on tires and can't seem to decide on what width. I will be keeping my stock wheels so limited to either 11.5, 10.5, or the 255/85R17 size. Don't want any poke (live in PA). Trying to stick with american made tires but not many choices in 11.5 inch wideor the other sizes.

I have a 25 Sport S max tow as well from western Pa and I am in the same situation as you and I have found 35x11.50x 18 seems to be the best option so far, they are much lighter than the 285/75 series tires

Sounds like you've answered your own question to me. This last go round, we went with the skinny 255 85r17 MT Baja Boss because I also wanted zero poke. I believe you should have the same wide axles, no idea on relative wheel offset between stock wheels...but I am sure that's been hashed out somewhere here on the forums as well.

As far as I am aware, the Mickey Thompsons are made in Akron.

315´s or 35x12.5 would not stick out much on stock rims. I´m running those 2 sizes on both of my Jeeps. But I think my next set of tires will be 35x11.5. I had pizza cutters for awhile on my JK and I felt they had better off-road traction in most conditions than the wider 35´s I´ve run since.

35x11.50/17 for stock rims gets my vote.

Retired. Beach bum.
The main two questions are what looks better and what functions best? I don’t care so much about looks as function. So I’ll go with no bigger than 255/85-17. With the stock alloy 17” wheels. Anything wider V will be too heavy and not expand its foot print as well, while causing hydroplaning in rainy wet roads.

I am On my second MxTow. First one with 35x12.5 on mopar 8 inch wheels and 2 inch mopar lift. Wow, wife was right. Damn thing was throwing us around. I did ok w it. Wide tracks git wider.

Just did my 23 MaxTow. 2.5 RT AEV. I followed AEV wheel specs to tuck this build in. Worked amazing. Method Racing 703’s With bead grip. 25 offset, 5.77 backspacing. 8.5 wide w same 35x12.5 BFG AT.

Dam thing drives a lot nicer and it’s turning radius seems major improvement.

No poke.

Tight.

Bottom line, if and when you want wheels, AEV specs will keep them inside the wells and drive very nice. May not be for everybody, but I wanted to try something new this build.

They say 2.5, but my flare measuements said 3.75. I called. They said give it a month. We’ll see.

Discount Quadratec rock rails. 599 new, they were throwing marked down parts on the tables at a Jeeps and Java and i paid $125. Beefy but awkward wrenching. A Little step and a little protection.

Without going to 11.5, which i considered, this set up is turning and handling better the the 2020 MT with same tires and 2 inch Mopar lift. And better then the Rubicon take offs ( wheels tires) I ran for a year on this 23.

I will save my actual product/design/kit and install observations for another post.

That is a real nice setup. I have been going back and forth on what lift kit to get. Liked the AEV kit I had on my wrangler but started leaning toward the mopar lift thinking 2.5 inch may make 35's look smallish. Your Jeep looks perfect.

I have 35-11.50 Toyo AT3 on 17x9 +12 roctrix wheels. IMO it’s a perfect setup. Tires are covered by the flares perfectly
