There are two kinds of people who choose to work on their own vehicles:

1) The people who have had issues.
2) The people who will have issues.

In other words, EVERYONE who works on their own vehicles will suffer the aggravation of doing so but these same people are the ones who will experience the satisfaction of completing a task.

I ended up going rogue and went electric to get the bolts in. Stupid idea but I got impatient.

Yep - DIY projects. I stripped the head on two of the bolts on my rails when I installed them because I use torx bits instead of an allen wrench (I guess I am going blind. )

I personally never understood the purpose of the bolt on each rear end of the side rails, but y'all don't have hardware stores nearby?

I think it is suppose to give the rails a little more stiffness since the bed flexes on the sides quite a bit

Sorry this is an old thread but just got the rails and am missing 6 of the 12 bolts plus the 2 for the rear. The m6 bolts I will just grab the hardware store but these other 2… are they the ones folks are missing in their kits? Anyone else have issues installing without? Thanks!
