The last thing I ever hung from my rear view mirrir was my HS Class of '78 tassel. in 1989, I got stopped by the VA State police and given a warning since I was an out-of-state driver, in the military and heading to Ft. Eustis for school. I removed it and then lost it, never to be seen again.

Nothing. It is illegal in many of not all jurisdictions and would create probable cause for a traffic stop regardless if you’re cited for it or not.

Similar to the vehicles that have “other than” white or amber colored lights emanating from the front of a vehicle or white, amber or red from the rear. Any other color light visible is PC if the vehicle is on the road. So those that run caliper, rock or any other lights and they are visible from the front or rear you are free game…not to mention those running non SAE or DOT approved lights. You’re just asking for trouble.

…but only when parked…otherwise…see above about the probable cause. Making yourself as small of a target as possible oftentimes times will get you benefit of doubt credits

Folks hang them all the time, but most I’ve seen are under a seat… kind of cheeky in a $60,000 vehicle.
