I can NOT tell the difference between the 2 modes of the rearview mirror (normal or dimmed)
It does not "dim" as well as any 'ol manual mirror while driving - in either yellow mode or red mode.

Yup that adds to my confusion, the selector switch does not have words, just colors

Brought it back to the dealer for clarification... well the sales guy says it works.

How could he tell in the middle of the day?

Can anyone explain the two colours?

Does the "yellow" mode mean the mirror is YES in auto-mode?
Or is it the other dim red colour?

Is there a manual mode so that i can simply control the mirror?

Its minor but i would like to know
Thanks

Wait, is this some special package or something?

I don't ever use the dimmer in any of my vehicles, so I know I've never looked at the one in my Gladiator. Is it not just a regular tab-thing that you flip that changes the angle of the mirror?

My Overland has the automatic dimming mirror. It responds to the amount of light shining on it. Mine seemed to work pretty well. I now have a cap on it and enough stuff in the back that light from behind is no longer an issue.

interesting. I actually just got out in my Rubicon (had to run an errand), and yeah, it just a manual dimmer.

Do you have the forward collision sensor? I don’t, and I wonder if this is something you get with that.

It's part of the Safety Package.

According to the Jeep website, the automatic dimming mirror is included with the 8.4" package.

Probably.
When I was thinking of ordering, it was available as part of the Safety Package.

You set it in the 8.4 UConnect interface, if you have the package. It’s one of several controls there.
