I think I missed the reference. 18mm?
Most "auto tool sets" have 17mm & 19mm, no 18mm, and what does the JT have tons of, 18mm bolt heads and nuts. I have 2 18mm wrenches, 8" and 12", 3 18mm sockets of different depths and drive sizes. But don't forget the 21mm either.

“Ah I see”, said the blind man. Now I have to go check and make sure I have at least 1 18mm in my tool chest in the Jeep. :like:

It's obvious many of you don't know what One Thing means.

I recommend an emergency satellite communicator. I use the Garmin InReach mini which is very small and easy to carry and use.

My older Garmin was a bit bigger but saved my life on Mount Borah in Idaho.

Note to self: The "I'll never stop until I get to the top and back down" is admirable unless your disability means you take 5-10 times longer. So I knew I would be coming down in the dark just like always [example from a couple of weeks before was 17 hours without a stop to do Humphries Peak in AZ].

Everyone with me turned around at Chicken Out Ridge [F#$%g Pussies!].

I had barely started down in the disappearing twilight when my headlight went out and I couldn't change the batteries because I thought the case was fused together from the heat. Of course the damn thing opened fine after I recovered.

What I didn't bring was a thermal mat or sleeping bag [IDIOT!] because they added weight and bulk and since I wasn't going to stop why bring the damn things. It was fantastic up top but I hung around too long resting and taking pictures.

So when I couldn't see I had to crawl back up to find a wind break because the terrain was just rock shale at a very steep angle.

Within an hour of hanging out on this ledge I'd retreated [hate that word] to I was shivering almost uncontrollably.

I knew from the constant shaking that my body core temperature wouldn't be able to keep me from hypothermia. Around midnight I sent the call. Finally made clear I was getting hypothermia and would need a helicopter to get me out in the morning.

All's well that ends well, right?

Bottomline: bring a satellite communicator anytime you leave civilization---such as even a major interstate across a northwestern state....

Actually I’ve been taking my Starlink Mini with me when I go off-road. Nice to be able to have full internet access from pretty much anywhere. Just got a magnetic mount for the hood so I can use it on the move, not just while camping. Will be trying it out soon.

Damn dude !! We have different levels of "pushing oneself". For me, it's seeing if I can make it home before I pee. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I gotta pull over.

Just took a mental count and I think I have about three and two different IFAKs. In addition to boo-boo kits. I just always wonder how many people who carry them have actually practiced using them.

I keep a few around. In fact, an additional one for a new Ouch Pouch just came by way of Amazon this morning. I have practiced with them. Putting one on yourself one-handed is a crucial muscle memory skill.

Last year I was working on a project by myself with nobody home except the dog and nearly cut the tip of my middle finger off with the table saw. I wasn't sure how bad it was as the time but there was a lot of blood everywhere.

I grabbed the CAT, threw it on my wrist and called 911 who put me on hold. (that's another issue)

The CAT saved me from losing too much blood and passing out because, yes, your fingers bleed hard. Being as I was inside the fence, no neighbors would have seen me if I did and the dog although a Good Boy wouldn't have been any help.

I keep the used CAT hanging in the shed as a reminder to be more careful and ordered a replacement immediately. I also replaced my Dewalt table saw with a SawStop. Doc told me it's $90K plus multiple surgeries to reattach a finger. $1700 on the Sawstop is a cheap insurance policy.
