What's the icon under the gas pump? It never moves.

I once caught a train out of penn, in the days of the bar car and smokers, only place I could find was the deck of the last car and rode from penn to the last stop watching the world go away from me.

So last stop, all off and I realize I can barely walk because the world is moving weird. Whoa... had a similar thing at the ripleys museum and the tunnel of terror or what ever its called, inner ears went gonzo and the boys were like dad... you gonna live?

Ghostbusters damnit. That's who ya call! Cause there is a damn gremlin in my computer and yes LAME. Cause there is already a clock that does that.....don't need a clock icon when I've got a clock that shows me.
The clock icon is there for the same reason the gas icone, or the road icon, is there - each are left aligned with the text they're describing.

Like all icons, they're visual aids to add context to the text (or whatever) they're associated with.

As has been said, the clock to the right of the clock icon is the trip clock, not the time of day.

Right - it's not a clock - it's an icon for the trip timer. I suppose it's akin to the timer icon on an oven that often looks similar to a clock. It's like the hour meter on a tractor or other equipment. It tracks how long the engine had run in hours and minutes.
That's what I compare it to - the hour meters on tractors. When you buy or trade tractors you compare hours. This tracks the hours of your run time. How long as the truck been running, or have you been on the road.
Timer, hour meter, whatever.

Alright I get it. It's an icon to tell me there's a damn clock to next to it.
Like I didn't see the trip clock already. Just like the pump and the road icon. All these things just to remind me that I've driven a certain amount of miles and how my fuel mileage is. Which is already clearly displayed on the screen to the right of the icons which for all intended purposes....serve no damn purpose. I don't have CRS but when I do I can look down at the icon and go back to this thread and say ohh yeah that's right.. assuming I can find said thread because I may have an acute case of CRS.
Ok Jeep. LAME ASS ICONS!

Anyone else think that the big gas pump icon should be on the right side, where the gas gauge is? Don’t know how many times I have looked at the temp gauge, thinking it is the gas because the damn icon is right there. ?

I had a case where a lot of stuff was moving in my truck. I got up to the stopping point at Pike's Peak, pulled into the lot, hit the brakes and put it in P and damn the truck was still moving, the dash was moving - stuff was moving that should not be moving. Whoa.
You shouldn't drop acid and drive, dude.

Those Mormons man, always freaking you out at the worst times. Can't tell you how many times I've woken up naked and broke in St.George with my head on fire and my mouth feeling like a portapotty next to a suburban full of women all telling me I'm their husband and all of those are my kids.

I jest. I'm not a fan of the door to door crowd but mormons I'll invite in. They like to have rational conversations and can logically and theologically defend their arguments, have a strong work ethic and could sure use a glass of water or two. I may not be buying what they are selling but if they have the grit to wear that shirt & tie in the heat, I'll let'em drink from my canteen.

They had a short lived theme park in Myrtle Beach, SC (Hard Rock Park?) and one of the rides had the spinning tunnel you walk through. As a kid I never understood the appeal of the mirror houses, fun houses, etc. Easy and boring.

But as an adult? Good God, I was holding on to the railing for dear life. If that railing wasn't there, I would've been crawling on my belly to get out. Totally messed up my equilibrium, worked like a charm.
